You do not have to sign up for a storage plan to stream live video. However, a subscription is required to automatically record and save video. A subscription is also required for our premium features such as People Detection and Facial Recognition.

You can add multiple camera devices, such as a wired outdoor security camera or a smart indoor camera, per household when purchasing the 30-Day video storage plan. All other plans are on a per camera basis.

No video is recorded without a myQ Video Storage Plan.

Live video feeds are not stored. Recorded video events are stored in our encrypted cloud network.

You will still get access and motion alerts without a storage plan, but will have to immediately open the app and start a live stream to see what’s happening

Any Chamberlain or LiftMaster Secure View Garage Door Opener with an integrated camera is eligible for the myQ Basic Video Storage Plan.

After capturing a series of pictures for the person’s face in the myQ App, the facial features will be converted into a unique biometric signature. From then on, each time a face is identified in a video, you will receive notifications when those faces have been identified by a myQ camera.

Face Detection is a paid, premium feature that is supported in the US and Canada, excluding the state of Illinois due to local legislation. Devices that store the unique biometric signature on the device, such as the Smart Garage® Video Keypad are available for use in Texas & Washington State, however due to local legislation in those states we are unable to support our cloud-based devices.³

Your biometric data is stored on the device or on our cloud network (depending on which device is being used) supported by advanced encryption technology.³ Each video recording, where a person is identified, is analyzed to compare faces identified in the video against the faces registered to each account owner’s facial library. If a match is identified, the video is labeled with the name of the identified face and a notification is sent to alert account owners and co-owners of the presence of that user/face.

You can scan up to 16 faces into a single myQ owners' account/library. Each person will need to “add an appearance”, complete the in-app consent form, and scan their face into the owners myQ account. Parents/guardians may complete the consent form on behalf of their children, while adult non-myQ account owners will need to consent for themselves.

myQ account owners/co-owners can complete a face scan into their account even if that person does not have a myQ account. However, each user must consent to our terms of use and privacy policy, which includes allowing the account owner/co-owner to manage their facial scan. It is also recommended that all users create their own account to make managing their data/ facial scan easier.

3. Your face scan (and any minors or non-myQ account holder scans entered by account owners or co-owners) will be stored here
4. Tap the name of the user you would like to Re-scan or Delete Scan
5. Options to Delete or Re-scan the users face will appear at the bottom of the screen
6. Make your selection accordingly
