    3rd & 2nd pairs both = disappointing
I trail run or bike everyday in the PNW (read: in the rain) and these have been awful compared to previous versions. I also work as a salesperson in the outdoors industry, so I have seen a ton of products come and go from this particular market and even got my first pair on a pro deal at a trade show so I was stoked on them at first and used to recommend them to everyone. Quit doing that since the last 2 pair I’ve purchased have been frustrating at best. The cloth cover drags and makes a roaring noise in my ear while I am biking, and if they get even slightly wet they give a static feedback sound that ruins the audio. Light rain shuts it all down… I cannot even hear the music… they sometimes give feedback for no reason or will randomly disconnect for no reason, fully charged. I was originally told that this product is designed for intense inclement conditions and sport performance, but that’s def not accurate. This cloth-cover set is the 3rd I’ve purchased, but the 2nd set also just randomly blacked out on me mid race in a heavy storm. I even had a cowl over them at the time. These are just a waste of money... I honestly get better weather performance from a $25 pair of skullcandy buds that are actually waterproof. (I washed those things the other day and somehow they still work, lol.) The cloth also came loose with normal runner/hiking wear and tear and absorbed very iota of dirt that touched it… Also, the fact that it is cloth makes it impossible to clean, which is kinda disgusting for something that goes in your ears. It’s also kind of frustrating that the music stops if you take just one of them out of your ear. If I wanted it to stop I’d just press the center pause button… obviously. That’s a personal preference, but to me it’s overkill. I don’t get it… these were once a perfect earbud. I miss the first gens and am moving on to other brands

When my Taotronics went kaput on battery life, I decided to search for a new pair of wireless Bluetooth ear buds. I have small ears and am kind of picky on sound so, because Amazon let’s you, I ordered quite a few of the most recommended pairs under $180 to try. The Vistas are BY FAR the most comfortable between some JBLs, Samsungs, AirPods, and Ankers. I do have one more pair I want to try, the Jabra Elite 7, but it’ll be hard to beat the Vistas.

I’ve had some pairs of Jaybird X2’s for many years and they’ve last great with battery longevity and reliability. They’ve always fit a little big in my ear so I was really surprised these Vistas are actually smaller and fit so well in my small ear. The app is unreal the way it lets you customize the sound. I’ve never had EQ adjust so well and everything from “Nineteen” by Steely Dan to Handel sounds absolutely fantastic. It took me maybe 1 minute to get the EQ that sounds best to me. It also has a really neat feature where the music will stop if you take a earbud out. That threw me off at first until I realized it was a setting I could toggle on and off. Super cool feature I haven’t heard of on other buds.

The ANC is pretty crazy good. I couldn’t hear ANYTHING. I haven’t tried yet in really loud environments but it worked insanely well in my house and I couldn’t hear my kids running around me screaming haha. I’ll most likely just leave the setting on none to save battery life but nice to have!

These are such a STEAL for $100. The quality is unbeatable even at $200+ ranges. Also gotta love the tactile button rather than touch!

      Highly highly recommend!

Final Update: These are just worse than even my 3 year old Vista 1s. The noise cancellation and surroundsense turn on and off randomly (yes I turned off the controls), they are terrible when they are on. And the battery life is about the same as the old Vista 1s. Returned and I'm going to look elsewhere.

I have used a pair of the original Vistas for the past couple of years. After a lot of searching to find good sport earbuds they became my daily earbuds both at work and on the trails. Rain or shine they always worked great.

Recently though I've been on the market for some new earbuds. Despite still working fine the battery on the original Vistas has started to suffer. I decided to give these a whirl, excited for all of the new features.

Out of the box they look great. But after using them a few times I have concerns.

      1. The fit definitely seems different. Where previously the smallest size fit comfortably, with these the fit is all over the place and hard to find a comfortable middle ground.

      2. The Active Noise Cancellation and Surround Sense leave something to be desired. Sitting indoors the ANC works ok. But outside, with any wind, they become nearly unlistenable. Somehow they amplify the wind noise significantly. Surround Sense audio quality is poor. Voice sound tinny, and they microphones pop and crackle intermittently. For now I have both features off. Which makes me question why I bought ear buds with these "upgraded" features in the first place. Oh yeah, and also they turn themselves back on randomly.

      3. Sound quality is overall equal to the original Vistas. Connectivity does seem worse, then skip and lose connection more regularly by far.

      4. So far battery life feels worse, somehow, than my old Vistas. Remember I'm replacing those due to worn batteries.... One small thing also, but it's something I had grown used to, with the old Vistas I could take one out listen to some music or whatever. Leave it in my car, out of the case, and it would automatically turn off after a bit. I could come back the next time to find the earbud with pretty much the same battery life as when I turned it off. Not so with the Vista 2s. If I try that I am guaranteed to return to an earbud with 5% battery life. Very annoying.

I'll continue to try these for a couple of weeks. But so far I am not impressed. Can I get a new pair of Vista 1s?

These Were My first Choice due to all the reviews I read when researching. But I Bought the Klipsch T5 Sport First because I have Klipsch monitors, there were many positive reviews and a 100 price tag seemed like a steal. I should have read the amazon reviews too. They were returned due to defect and so I ordered these, my original first choice. Out of the box they had 35% and 50% charge for the buds and 80% on the case. I paired them to my IPhone 7 and installed the app. did the Fw update and let them charge for about 3 hours. (using a wireless qi pad) after 3 hours 100% on the case and 85 on one ear and 100 on the other. I left the #2 ear peace on and did a 90 min workout. 15 min warmup on stationary bike and remaining time lifting weights. I tried various EQ settings I found one I liked and had and on it just sounded well that way it was the only way I was able to get deeper bass and cleaner sound it was OK but not mind blowing. after my workout I noticed my ears had a slight pain around where the ear retainer sat in my lobe but not as comfortable as I hoped, so i switched to #1 and Boy am I glad I did. the pain went away and more importantly the bud sat just a bit deeper into my ear canal or I just got a beater seal I’m not sure witch, but the sound quality almost tripled turning and I was able to turn off anc and the other sound management option the acoustics were no longer tinny and harsh. i quickly went thru the EQ settings witch now seemed to do more and spent the next hour Listening to everything from Ac/Dc, Aerosmith, Bebe max and others artists including Blues with Imagine Dragons Radioactive as the finale test for Bas response and Wow! the bass was booming and mids and highs were crisp and clear, it was the mind blowing experience I was hoping for completely blowing away what I had become used to with both my pump hd's and the klipsch t5 sports I had for less than a day. Get these and try the other ear sizes even if you think its ok because wow i didn’t thing changing the ear peace would make that much of a difference but it did. i love these and the quality and build just blows the klipsch t5's away. (The case is even a huge improvement from the Klipsch. The magnets for the buds just suck them in. no guessing on whether they are charging and its smaller and easier to open as well as being water proof too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Buds!!!
Reviewed in Canada on August 15, 2023
My first wireless earbuds were the Jaybird Run models. Aside from their lacking button controls and oversized build and case, they were excellent from the start until they began falling apart (literally) after about 4 years of extended use.

Naturally I was more than happy to try Jaybird again. I bought these Vistas for significantly less than my first pair of Jaybirds (nearly $100 less) and was excited to try them out.

For the pros, the button controls are incredibly handy and customisation is easy and straightforward. The audio quality is excellent (in my opinion). The auto-pause/play function when you take the buds out is extremely convenient as well. Their fit is extremely non invasive and comfortable, and the case is very easy to carry around. They're a very light, discreet, and secure fit especially during exercise, which is what I mostly use them for.

As for the cons, the ANC and Surroundsense functions are prone to activating accidentally. Not a huge deal, but it can be pretty annoying at times. On the off occasion, buds won't charge in the case. I'm assuming it's because they're not securely connected to the magnetic charger, and there is a light on the case that indicates if it's charging. But in a situation where you need to store your buds and go, sometimes you'll reopen the case to a half-dead bud.

Finally is the biggest issue I have with the product: the battery life. This issue single-handedly brought my review down from a 4.5-5 star review to a 3. I'm not sure if it's a fluke with my buds specifically but while my right bud seemingly lasts as long as my old run batteries did, the left dies incredibly quickly. As seen in the screenshots I took during one workout session, my left bud loses battery roughly 5× as fast as the left. While I could get about 4+ continuous hours out of my old buds, I'm lucky to get anywhere near half that with these ones as they both deactivate once the bud reaches 10%.

For all the good these buds do, it's beyond inconvenient and outright annoying to get such little use out of these products between charges.

***EDIT: Leaving my previous review intact but I'll just add the new stuff here:

Got in touch with Amazon and returned my old paid for a replacement: exact same model as prior. Can confirm that the battery issues I was having with the first pair aren't around with these ones. Battery life is absolutely stellar and I'm thoroughly satisfied with the purchase. I'd just recommend anyone buying to be wary of this issue and keep your packaging for a while to make any returns easier.

1.0 out of 5 stars Connecting takes a long time and right earbud started dropping randomly.
Reviewed in Canada on September 2, 2024
I finally binned these today (rather forcefully, I might add) after months of mounting frustration. I bought them about 20 months ago.

The Good: Sound quality is quite good as is active noise cancelling. Also waterproof, which was the key reason for choosing them. Relative to my iPod Pro Gen 1's they had more bass and a richer sound. They also seemed to have longer battery life while in-ear. Charging was quick and USB-C meant I always had a cable handy. Note that I'm not stumping for Apple here; just using them for comparing features that I expect to work the same in both.

The Bad: Connecting to an iPhone requires their app. They also take a frustratingly long time to connect. Also, I could never get them to charge much higher than the case itself. If the case was fully charged or plugged in, they'd come up to 100% but if I put them in a partially charged case, they'd never get past 80%, even overnight. My iPod Pros would get up to 100% unless the case went down to 0% before fully charging the iPods. The above issues were annoying but I was okay with this because of The Good parts above. But read on.

The Ugly: About 6 months ago (conveniently after the warranty expired), the right earbud would just randomly drop, sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after an hour or so, despite being fully charged at the beginning. The workaround seemed to be to put them back in the case for an indeterminate period. 5 minutes was not enough to correct the issue but next day they worked. This meant that I always had to carry backup earbuds. Seating them against the charging connectors was also wonky but my iPod Pros are also finicky in this way. Cleaning the contacts resolved this for both. However, eventually, the left earbud started to take more and more effort to get seated and finally would not charge at all. This is when I binned them. I can't honestly recommend these because of these issues.

I’ve used the first model of Jaybirds Vista and now I have experienced the second. Unfortunatly, I’m going to have to tell a little story for context so bare with me.

My first jaybirds worked fine up until a certain update. I noticed they would skip all the time similar to how a CD would in a disk player. There was nothing wrong with the headphones for it to be doing this. I noticed it would often skip when the phone connected to the internet and it would take a brief second or two for the interference to clear up. I tried to report this but there weren’t many options on the support page and they were a gift so I didn’t have a receipt. One notable thing is that the iPhone I was using was an 8.

So I bought the newer model going in thinking “okay maybe that skipping problem I will be over” but would you guess it- they still skipped. Albeit it wasn’t as horrible as my original pair but it was noticeable during meditation sessions and podcasts. Same problem where it would skip briefly when the phone connected to the internet but it would also do it randomly for no reason just like the first ones.

Here’s the thing though, I got an iPhone 13 not too long ago, and wouldn’t you have it- no more skipping. I have data now so I don’t always have to use the wifi. I haven’t experienced a single skip at all since getting the new phone so it seems they work great with newer phone models because it’s possible that’s what the updates are aimed at.

Other than this strange problem (which I hope Jaybird tackles and fixes at some point) these headphones are great. I really love them and the paint won’t chip off like the old ones. Only thing that slightly bugs me is the earbud feels a bit sharp when inserting it but I had the same problem when I first got my older jaybirds and my ears just needed to adjust. Hopefully I break it in soon.

I leave the noise cancellation off because I can hear my hair moving around on them. Very annoying but it does filter sounds. It also somehow has the capability of allowing ambient noise, which basically means it can magically turn itself into a pair of spy headphones. I bet I could hear people talking smack about me from across the room if I left that feature on. Again, these features might work for someone else but they’re not for me personally.

Alright, that’s about enough honesty (and one way too wordy review) for one day. I hope this helps someone decide whether they will buy this product or not. I’m pretty tolerant when it comes to experiencing problems with stuff I buy but some people don’t want to deal with the trouble and I get that. I personally love these headphones and I hope they last me a long time.

      EDIT (April/9/2023):

So I’ve had these things about a year now and I thought that my long term complaints about this product will hopefully let you know what you will also have to deal with in the long run. I’ve knocked off two stars from my original rating because I was being too optimistic.

One thing that sucks is that the replacement ear pieces aren’t form fitting for the headphone. There’s space between the plastic and silicone. It might contribute to why my right ear piece falls out more than my left but I don’t know. They also tend to hurt my ears if I wear them for extended periods of time, and I can have them in for up to four hours a day.

Another thing is that verdigris has formed on the sensors, which indicates they are made from copper. If anyone doesn’t know what verdigris is, it’s what covers the statue of liberty and gives it that weird green/blue color. I have to manually try to clean it out of my headphones but the way the little censors are set up I can’t even clean it all out. This stuff is formed from exposure to moisture, and ears definitely have enough oils to cause that to happen. My first jaybirds never did this and it annoys me that I have to deal with it.

Last thing is that the ear buds themselves, those little things that insert into your ears- are sharp on the rims. They actually can become a little painful when wearing long term. Not so bad if you’re not wearing them constantly like I do, but it can make them difficult to wear and I have to take a break.

What sucks is that I really like these headphones. The sound quality is really good and I like the customization options. I really like the Jaybirds, but it sucks that I paid like $200 for these things to be disappointing. I really like a lot of qualities they have, but there are long term problems that need to be worked on and some of the issues from the first jaybirds carried on to these ones. So just bare all this in mind when buying them. Honestly, you’d probably be better buying AirPods.

Great Headphones but iffy with older phone models

I’ve used the first model of Jaybirds Vista and now I have experienced the second. Unfortunatly, I’m going to have to tell a little story for context so bare with me.
