Very good looking, comfy boots right out of the box. This review is only after the first day of wearing them so I can comment on longevity yet.I ordered .5 size smaller than my usual shoe size (which i do for all boots) and they fit great. I'm usually 10.5 men's in Nike and vans. These I ordered a 10. Very comfy and soft. It's feels like breaking in will be a breeze. The toe box is slightly wide (I have narrow-ish feet) but that's just an observation.Overall very happy and looking forward to seeing how they hold up in the long run.

    These are pretty nice hiker shoes. Nice wide toe area. Wore them a couple times on a 4 mile walk on smooth surface and very comfortable. Just the right ankle height for me. A couple things that keep from being rated a 5 star. One, the loop on the back to pull them on is too small. I know my fingers are not the skinniest, but make the darn loops a half inch bigger so my finger will fit. Second, the tongue should be a tad taller. The laces almost go over the top of the tongue, it should be 3/8- 1/2 inch taller. Overall, pretty good value. Hard to know right now how they will hold ups but they look well made

    Let me start by saying that I work as a facility maintenance technician at a university and put some MILES on my footwear.

    I usually spend $175+ on Solomon hiking boots because I want quality boots that are comfortable, durable, and keep my feet dry throughout the life of the boot.

    When winter approached this year, I wanted to get a cheaper pair of boots to wear as I often assist the grounds dept. with snow removal and salt application and didn't want to put my Solomon's thru the ringer.

    I read some other reviews on these boots and figured @ this $$$ point,I'd give them a shot!

    I'm here to tell you that I have worn these boots ALL WINTER and they have held up extremely well. They aren't insulated, but my feet stayed warm while shoveling snow all day in -20 wind chills. I have had them submerged in a flooded service tunnel up over my toes and the waterproofing held up perfectly.

    I traded out the factory insoles with my go to insoles (as I do with every pair of boots I buy) and they are comfortable to wear all day.

    I don't often leave reviews, but I have spent a lot of $ over the years looking for a durable, lightweight, waterproof boot that holds up longer than 3-6 months (averaging 18,000 steps a day) & These boots really & truly surprised me.... So I thought I would share my experience with you.

    Simply put, the QUALITY/VALUE of these boots is going to be hard to beat.

    I wear these for work and I do ALOT of walking and climbing ladders all day. They are comfortable and seem to be a well made shoe. They are a bit heavy and for me ran just a tad large, but not too large. I just went with a little thicker sock to account for that. I wear a 10.5 regular width in Merrill's so I used that as a size guide when I ordered them. I do like the metal lace holders, they allow you to pull the laces tight, but will most likely kill the shoe laces with time and use.

    So far these are decent boots once figure out the best lace pattern to use with them and which quick lace eyelet at the ankle will be the most comfortable (yes how a boot is laced can make big difference on an uncomfortable boot being comfortable). For me it was an every other eyelet cross over (see pics if don't understand), with the first quick lace eyelet being best for tie off. If I went to the top eyelet it put to much pressure at the ankle bend and made my foot go numb after 10 minutes.

    As for durability that is yet to be seen as just a few days of use so far. These boots are replacing a pair of Altima Maritime Assault boots that were literally my everyday ware and everything use for over 4 years (have done many deep dives with these boots to depths of 150ft+). Now I'm not going to take these boots diving obviously, but if they last half as long I'll be happy.

    Now for early pros and cons:

    Pros:
    Good flex, not to warm, and lightweight

    Cons:
    Tongue to short if need to lace to the top, the stitched eyelet at the ankle bend point is a weak spot and should have been a speed lace or enclosed metal eyelet. Finally laces are way too long.

    I ordered these as my car broke down in France and I left my much loved but ultra expensive gortex all weather boots in the back while awaiting recovery to UK . Currently December and I had two quick trips to the Baltic's, Lithuania and Poland so needed some boots fast. Read the reviews and it was these and the price point ( still hope to get my Gortex back) and the speed of delivery that did it for me. These boots have been excellent. Arrived next day Amazon Prime in time for my trips. I ordered the size 12 as I usually take size ,11 UK when it comes to trainers/shoes but I order one size up when it comes to boots as I wear with walking/winter socks. When these boots arrived I did a quick test and although they worked with the socks were a tad on the tight side so I did a return and got size 13 which have worked out really well , my advice therefore would be order one size up from your normal walking boots. These boots are lightweight but fit well and are comfortable , so far have proven warm and completely waterproof even in heavy snow. At one point I lost my drone which lost the signal and decided to do an impromptu landing so I had to go off piste and recover, the snow came right up to the top of the boots without entering and the boots remained warm and weather tight throughout . As regards the grip I note some have made unfavourable comment but I have found to be excellent even in snow and ice. The tread is deep and rugged and should last for quite some time although I will probably put them away until next winter now.
