Perfect VERY LARGE Very Large French-Style Loaves

Before you buy this, please take a look at the dimensions and realize that it is designed to make the classic 2Kg Poilane-style French round loaf. If you intend to bake small, 500g or 1Kg loaves with this, you will probably be very disappointed in that this vessel is very large so, the walls will likely not touch the sides of your loaf, and your loaf will spread out instead of rising. If, on the other hand, you are accustomed to baking A LOT of bread, on a daily basis, this will change your life. As Jacques Pepin once said: The best meal in the world is Good Bread, Good Wine, and Good Butter. And, this will definitely help you achieve that.

Would not buy again

I purchased this with the intent to bake sourdough in it, as it seemed like a good alternative to my Dutch oven. Within one week of use, the enamel coating started to peel off the lid. I contacted customer service multiple times and have yet to receive a response. This should not happen after a week of use, and customer service has been unresponsive to multiple attempts at contact. Save your money and purchase something cheaper and better quality.

My order was canceled without any explanations.

I placed my online order for this beautiful bread oven, my account was charged and a day later it was canceled without explanation. I reached out to costumer service, she was extremely rude and ugly. Telling me she owed me no explanation for why it was canceled and that there were no other managers who could assist me. She then sent me an email reiterating the same. No response about returning my funds. I filed a fraud claim with my bank and i was reimbursed. It was my very first purchase, meant as a birthday gift for my husband who loves to make bread. It took me a while to convince him to change to the Le Creuset brand. The experience left me shocked; for some reason I expected better service, better care or the bare minimum of an explanation for how I was treated. I ended up purchasing it from a local retailer Sur la table. My husband refuses to use it solely based on how I was treated.

LOVE THIS BREAD OVEN!

Received this during the week and made my first loaf yesterday, with great results! Crisp crust, heavenly interior. I'm not an experienced bread maker but this oven makes me look like one! Used the recipe from LC and only 4 ingredients, about 4 hours and it turned out a beautiful round loaf of delicious bread. I ate it warm, with almond butter and jam, and toasted - all delicious. Was hesitant to purchase but so glad I did! Got the Cerise color and it looks great and performs better. Love the rings and logo on the bottom. So happy with my purchase! Need a raisin bread recipe now.

Love this oven and please try the "Cold Start" method!

I like to be mindful of energy use and did not like the 30 minute preheat most recipes call for. So I tried this "cold start" method with my Le Creuset Bread Oven dish and it worked great! It made the same loaf of bread - maybe better than the other method. Please promote this method if you try it and it works for you! Thank you for this post! Takes too long to process!

I ordered this Bread oven in store. The store told me it should be coming from Reno. I ordered one in the past so i assume its just an overnight shipping since im just 2 hrs away. 6 days past i can't believe they have just processed my order. If i wasnt be calling customer service i have no idea where my order is since the store wont give me any shipping details. This cost $300 and you are shipping it thru UPS? You could have atleast ship it thru Fed Ex fast shipping! So unbelievable that it took a week just to process an order. Just wow to wait 2 weeks for a $300 order.

SUCCESS THE FIRST TIME USING!

Received the bread oven this week and made my first loaf today. I don't have much experience baking bread from scratch, so was a bit apprehensive. The KitchenAid mixer did the hard work of kneading and the rest was just follow the instructions to a beautiful crusty loaf of homemade bread. Highly recommend this, even for beginners. No preservatives, nothing artificial, only four ingredients (not counting the tablespoon of olive oil). Now I need other recipes, like raisin bread, to make in this cool domed oven! I got the Cerise and it looks great in my kitchen!

Great bread oven!!

I have been making bread with my almost 25 year old 5.5 quart LeCreuset dutch oven. Since I bake regularly, I wanted a dedicated vessel for bread. I decided on the LeCreuset bread oven because it has what I am looking for (durability, function, ease of use and storage). It is not a dutch oven, which is great because I don't need another dutch oven! Its low profile helps with the loading the dough and removing the bread. The lid is light enough to lift with one hand. It operates just like my dutch oven but better. I use parchment paper and bake in preheated vessel with temperature at 375. This combination yields excellent oven spring and no burning. I have used this bread oven to sauté/steam vegetables. I also plan to use it as a tagine. Even with 30% off, it is still pricey, but it will last for a long time, as my other LeCreuset pieces.
