I wanted my children to be exposed to vinyl, and I was excited that there are many artists releasing albums on vinyl. I started noticing records at thrift stores and brought home some gems, but they were not well taken care of. Some had scratches, some had fungus/mold, and others were just filthy.
I had some success with more conventional cleaning methods, but not to a point where I was satisfied. I use an ultrasonic cleaner in my shop, and my unit was small and not functioning well. I thought, "Hey, I could replace it and get one of those gadgets that attach to it to help clean records." There were a lot of options out there.
I stumbled on this WEWU LP Vinyl Record Ultrasonic Cleaner. The first thing that caught my eye was the mechanism used to raise and lower the records into the ultrasonic cleaner. It looked really well built. When I received the unit, I was even more impressed. The fit and finish were fantastic. The functionality is superb. The label protectors are excellent as well, made from acrylic with silicone o-rings. I am delighted with my purchase at this point.
