I am very happy with the Wilton cake decorating turntable. I found it to turn smoothly and rather elegantly while I frosted 8in filled 2 layer, but I discovered it also doubles as an affordable Lazy Susan on your table. I'm showing you a picture of my fruit bowl that is set atop it. Even with the weight of a full bowl, it spins smoothly as tested multiple times by the the youngsters around. Made of easy to clean hard plastic and sturdy.

Recommend

This turntable is so very useful! I've used it for decorating layer cakes. It fits both 8 inch and 9 inch cakes easily. I've used the turntable for two layer and three layer cakes. It makes icing a cake so much more efficient! I leave the cake on the turntable to cut and serve the cake also. I'm not a cake decorator but this has inspired me to give it a try.

Extremely Handy!

Desserts are my favorite thing to make but I don't do cakes very often. It was just too hard to ice them. All thr turntables were too high up I was afraid my whole cake was going to crash down. The low ones didnt work as well as the cakes were too heavy and they wouldn't turn. I didn't have these issues with this one though. Even with a two layer cake it turned freely and didn't rub I was surprised. Not sure how much more it could hold. It works wells and stores in small spaces and could double as a lazy Susan for your spices while not in use.

Keep it turning turning turning..

I was pleasantly surprised with how well the turntable has been.I don't know how I have gone this long with out one. The turntable moves easily doesn't jerk on me. No matter what size cake so far the 12 inch diameter works great. Not bad for starting out with one.

Wilton's Cake Decorating Turntable works great for decorating as well as using it to serve if you use plastic utensils. It spins freely with no wobble detected. In a pinch it could stand-in for a smaller lazy Susan!

This decorating turntable is great

I love this so much. My son and I made a cake and decided to test this out so we made it a two layer round cake because the turntable is round. It was so easy to use and it's spins so easily as well. I think I will be making many more round cakes in the future because of how easy it was to use this turntable. I just popped it on there, grabbed the frosting and started to frost. As I was frosting the sides I just grabbed the turntable and turned it around and it was so smooth and easy. Then I grabbed the next cake and put it on. Unfortunately I put the 2nd cake on upside down but it still did a very good job frosting the cake with ease. My boys are happy, they only care how it tastes. I was happy because it was so easy to use and so smooth to turn around. It was also incredibly easy to transfer the cake to a cake keeper and then clean off the turntable. I believe this is a very high quality cake decorating tool. I highly recommend this for anyone who needs to make round cakes. I did not put mine in the dishwasher I simply washed it and dried it by hand because it says do not submerge or soak in water I assume that means it cannot go in the dishwasher either. I don't know why it would really need to go in the dishwasher because it was so easy to clean by hand anyway. I love this and I'm going to recommend my friends get one for themselves.

Love the convenience

This Wilton Decorating Turntable is a good addition to my baking collection. The rotating cake plate is 12” in diameter and has a raised non-slip base at 1 1/2 inches high, for easy turning to help aid in icing your cake. Tip* After you ice your cake just rest your knife or flat edge on the base lightly but parallel to the cake side and rotate the turntable to get a straight smooth side. The only downside is that this Wilton cake decorating turntable is that it cannot be submerged or soaked in water, you can only wipe it clean with a damp rag.

Perfect for cake decorating

I requested the cake decorating turntable because I have always dreamed of being a rapper and this is probably the closest I'll get to spinning anything. My previous method of frosting cakes was not the easiest or the cleanest. Having to manually turn the cake stand or just move myself around in circles was probably the only thing I could do. Enter the Wilton Cake Decorating Turntable! I was expecting the actual cake table and the turntable to be more separated/elevated but they are pretty close together so you have to use the tips of your fingers to turn the scalloped edge on the bottom. It functions similar to a Lazy Susan so when you turn it you can frost your entire cake with ease. I practiced a few times with and without the cake on it to see how fluid the turntable would move. It rattles a bit, not entirely smooth sailing so to speak when you turn it. It can get a little stuck while using but you must give it a slight tug and it will continue to turn. It is made of strong plastic. I wipe mine down after each use. Not made for submerging in water or the dishwasher. I don't know what pieces could get rusty if I got it wet. It made things easier overall. Not a bad purchase for yourself or for wanting to give as a housewarming gift.

Easy way to frost a cake

Thin and flimsy. Scalloped edging is a nice look. Does not turn smoothly. Wobbles and "chatters." Seemed like a good idea, but this particular one seems poorly made and designed.
