I was skeptical due to the reviews, but as a former smoothie/mixologist in both Cleveland and Washington DC, I am very well versed in Vitamix, Ninjas, Etc. I have done low end to very high end personal blenders and regular sized blenders.
Despite the reviews, this blender is excellent. It is giving what older blenders from 2000’s that were heavy duty and handy, like my great aunts glass blender from the 80’s-90’s.
Perhaps the bad reviews have to due with lack of knowledge, such as liquid to solid ratio. This blender blended a thick smoothie in under 8 seconds. As a former mixologist, always add liquids first then solids, gradually adding more fruit to thicken. Do not overcrowd blender blade and expect magic to happen. I actually prefer this over my previous ninja. Also, the top is awesome it a super clamped on top, make sure you remove the blender from the base before attempting to remove blenders top. 10/10 from me! ⭐️

Hamilton Beach Power Elite Wave Action Blender For Shakes and Smoothies Generally Works Very Well
The Hamilton Beach Power Elite Wave Action Blender for Shakes and Smoothies had many features I had been shopping for. The following features met my wish list: 1) A glass jar for blending firmer foods or ice for drinks; 2) Buttons for different blending tasks that are flush with the blender making for less mess to clean between buttons; 3) A very reasonable noise level when blending; and 4) the patented Wave Action System that really worked to circulate the contents blended in a diagonal orbit (see my video) such that chunks of food do not get caught under the Ice Sabre blades and the final blended content is evenly smooth. The only feature I was a bit disappointed with was the top not fitting the blender jar completely in spite of repeated attempts to push the top down onto the jar, but this one flaw was minor overall. When I read through other reviews before purchasing this blender, I only saw one review mentioning this. Also, less of a criticism but maybe more of a tip, since I mainly make smoothies with this blender and I prefer a thick smoothie, the pour spout on the glass jar and also the ill-fitting plastic top were too narrow, but I easily remedied this by using a small silicone spatula to guide the contents from the glass jar into a cup. I was surprised by one feature that was not clearly listed in the product paragraph descriptions: the blade and bottom of the blender are fused together. I wasn't sure how this would work as I like to clean the blender components thoroughly, but I am now a fan as there is less to clean simply using a bottle brush for any fine detail cleaning. Later I saw there was a video highlighting this feature. For the time being I am using my blender for thick smoothies that are two-thirds (approximately) deep leafy greens and one-third fruit. I also add hulled flax seed and almond protein and feel the fullness of a meal for at least four hours. I blend two full jars of smoothie content which is enough to fill a gallon plastic pitcher (see photo) which lasts me five days. I have been able to feel less cravings and have been steadily losing excess weight with this and an overall lower carb diet. I recommend this blender to anyone who is looking for a sturdy and reliable appliance for making healthy smoothies!
