Amyl and the Sniffers on Tour

Melbourne-based punk rock group Amyl and the Sniffers are on the rise and back on tour in the U.S., bringing their lawless brand of Australian pub rock stateside in 2022. Onstage, singer Amy Taylor keeps the crowd amped with lyrics that scream of rage and reckless abandon, while Bryce Wilson creates absolute mayhem pummeling out massive drum beats. Guitarist Dec Martens and bassist Gus Romer keep the mosh pit moving with ear-shattering distortion, destructive riffs and plenty of power chords. Often compared to Motörhead or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Amyl and the Sniffers have made waves on both sides of the Pacific with their high-energy live performances. The 2022 Comfort to Me Tour is sure to deliver more mullets, unruly lyrics and over-the-top attitude to fans who snag tickets in time.

Amyl and the Sniffers Live in Concert

In 2016, Melbourne roommates Amy Taylor (vocals), Bryce Wilson (drums), Dec Martens (guitar) and Gus Romer (bass) hosted a bedroom recording session that resulted in the formation of Amyl and the Sniffers. While some artists spend years perfecting their debut release, the Sniffers were amazingly able to write, record, mix and release their debut EP Giddy Up in a whiplash-inducing 12 hours. The group gained local fame with Giddy Up, followed by their second EP release in 2017 titled Big Attraction. Fans flocked to shows to rock out to Taylor's irreverent lyrics and relatable rage about topics like money troubles in "Gacked on Anger." Quick success with live performances led to the band headlining their first UK tour in 2018 before supporting King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard in the U.S. After signing to Rough Trade, the Sniffers experienced an international breakthrough with their self-titled LP in 2019, which later won the ARIA Award for Best Rock Album. After successfully inciting mosh pits on multiple continents, and rocking out at venues like The Depot in Salt Lake City, Amyl and the Sniffers took the pandemic years to record 2021's Comfort to Me and gear up for their next international tour.

    Had a blast untill...

by Jeff Mohawk on 10/28/23Roxian Theatre - Pittsburgh

My bro and I had a blast sitting in row H on the balcony The couple sitting next to us were most interesting until they abruptly left leaving her outer garment. I left it with the bar who said they would take care of the matter. The concert was amazing. I wish we would have arrived a few minutes earlier. The website said the doors opened at 7 and the concert started at 8. But we found out that Die spitz was almost done by the time we sat down. Both bands were so much fun.

The energy was amazing and translated to fans having great energy. I wanted to look at the other members of the band but my eyes kept returning to Amy. She was beautifully wonderful! The opening band, Die Spitz was also excellent!

    Amyl Rocks

by DB on 10/15/23Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The band was as great as ever BUT what has happened to the sound. My last three shows at The Fox the sound was awful. Come in, fix it.

    Fun fun fun

    by AMV78 on 10/15/23Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Die Spitz were a great opener. They had a sound reminiscent of late 80s/early 90s Riot Grrrl bands. Unfortunately the sound guy muffled their sound a bit and the vocals and drums weren't quite loud enough, but overall, a highly energetic and entertaining set. Amyl and the Sniffers absolutely conquered the stage at Fox Theater. This was my first time seeing them live, and I understood immediately why my friends are so hyped on them. Front woman Amy Taylor was all over the stage, engaging with the crowd, while belting out the tunes. The sound guy got them dialed in pretty well and the band sounded fantastic. A great set with no rock star nonsense, no silly pretend to be gone and come back for an encore. All killer no filler the whole way through. Look forward to catching them again, preferably in a better venue with a better crowd, but overall, a great time on a Thursday night in Oakland.
