Do not bother seeing shows at Chase Arena

by Pike on 4/27/22Chase Center - San Francisco

While I'm sure this show was amazing for those who paid $500 and up to be within eye- and ear shot of the stage, for those of us poor suckers who shelled out nearly $100 for nosebleed seats, this was a complete waste of time and money. I thought there would at least be a jumbotron so we could see what we were missing, but NOPE! We couldn't hear anything either because they don't bother to project the sound all the way to the back. It was so sad and disappointing; I've been a Bjork fan for almost 30 years and was finally going to get to see her, and then this was what happened. ALSO, I will say the music she's made the past 10 years or so does not resonate with me in the way that her older stuff did, and she only played one song from each of her first four albums with the rest being her newer, more orchestral and abstract work, but I feel like if I was close to the front I could have gotten into it. As it was, I was bummed out and bored.

    OHMAZING!

by Zombie Slayer on 2/16/22Chase Center - San Francisco

As an artist in the tradition sense and musician, the Björk experience tickled every concert fancy that had long been neglected. I'm at a loss for words on how to accurately describe the performance itself, other than to say it was BRILLIANT. But I never expected anything less. The Chase Center staff were very professional and polite. We felt valued as attendees, which is a rare concert feeling. The unexpected seating upgrade made my birthday celebration that much more exciting and unforgettable and AWESOME!!

    A mystical experience

by Gerardo Gama on 2/13/22Chase Center - San Francisco

I have liked her the music and I loved her performance in dancing in the dark, and I admire her devotion and dedication to spread the word about important issues affecting the world. I was unable to comprehend her work when listening as a kid, so I didn’t really know what to expect. Bjork has elevated the standard to an unprecedented level. Her show is a sneak into the cosmos/metaverse/faith/plays/reality check. The visuals blend with the performers and immerse the audience. The music is like the forces of nature, brutal, comforting, organic, beautiful, but elegant and whole. Even the stage is like floating, in tune with the notes, with the visuals. A super production with state of the art technology. It just shows how hardworking, and invested Bjork and her team are in this collaboration. Their message is so true and beautiful, it deserves all the echo and momentum. I loved every song, and it was all new. Event hits had been arranged for a flute ensemble and of course that even the weather in the theater is controlled to play a part in the spectacle. A 4D experience reaching all your senses and organs. It was so powerful, so beautiful, and honest that some people just lost it. Included myself, I just can’t stop the tears when standing in front of a masterpiece. You gotta to experience it, and bring your kids.

    Great sound, visualizations and music

by maxiu on 2/12/22Chase Center - San Francisco

It's impressive how much can be done with just flutes (7!), drums, keyboard and choir. Visualizations, Bjork and rest of artists created great composition and show.

Super Professional Show and Very Unique

by Eli F on 2/12/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Bjork is such an original that I almost wasn't surprised at the high level of quality her concert was. I was surprised how much her voice in live version sounded even better, and that's saying a lot. Even her costume was out of this world; loved all the digital nuances of her performance as well. The Chase Center in SF is missing the large screen option for viewers in the far away seats to be able to see Bjork's face while she is singing - those of us who love Bjork, know how much joy it is to watch her.

Floor seats are uncomfortable with a terrible view

by Never again Chase Center on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Paid so much money for floor seats only to be squeezed into a tiny folding chair that even Bernie couldn’t get comfy on. Was practically sitting in my neighbors lap. Rows are so close to eachother there is zero possibility for a decent view. Your view will be the back of the heads of everyone in front of you with some visuals coming out of them. Greedy chase.

Cornucopia comes to the Chase Center

by Irene on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

I love Björk. I love her so much that in 2019 I flew to NYC to see Cornucopia at The Shed. When I saw that she was bringing the feast for the senses to the Chase Center, I was both beyond excited that she's back in the Bay Area (it's been years!) and also not expecting it to be nearly as good as it was at The Shed. It's a big arena, after all, and my experience with sound systems in arenas is that they are tinny. Well, of course the show wasn't as intimate as it was at The Shed, but I'm happy to report that it sounded amazing at the Chase Center. It was incredible and I'm so glad I went. So pleased with it, as a matter of fact, that I bought tickets to the second show on Tuesday, too. I even convinced my partner who is not a big Björk fan to come to the second show and he really enjoyed it. I would come to the Chase Center again to see a live musical performance after this. It was my first experience here.

    Boring show

by Glirastes on 2/11/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Firstly, Björk’s vocal performance was incredible as always. But that’s about all this show had going for it. Her costumes were cool if you were in the front row. Further away and she just looked like an unintelligible blob on stage. There were almost no one on stage with an instrument unless you count the guy standing at a MacBook bobbing his head. The rest of the stage were dancers that mostly swayed randomly and not choreographed with each other. The visuals on screen were what I’d expect from a rock band that put no effort in. Not what I’d expect from Björk. The whole performance was very low energy. Björk mostly just stood and sang, hardly even moving about the stage. On top of that, every few songs she’d leave the stage (assuming she was changing costumes) and just a recording of her songs would play. Like I paid several hundred dollars for 10% of the songs to just be Spotify with visuals. Lastly, while this isn’t Björk’s fault, the audio in the venue was a muddy mess. It was mixed pretty poorly. Overall, if it wasn’t for the fact that it’s a legend in Björk, I’d say the show isn’t worth it. If you’re a big Björk fan like myself then you’ll still enjoy hearing Björk even if she does look like a well lit blob and the show disappoints.
