I was sent this shelter to review and we are looking forward to using it we will be going camping soon and will be using it as shade over our camper since I received it I have not been able to set it up because we have had bad rain here since I received it once I do set it up I will be glad to add another photo of it in use.

Ozark trail shelter

This has been used by a scout troop successfully in high winds and rain. It has grommets in all 4 corners and in the middle on two sides. It hasn't two sets of stakes for sand and regular soil. The poles are one height, they'd be amazing if they could have adjustable height though. 

I've used it in sand and it worked much better than a foldable canopy on a windy day at the lake. 

For those that have complained about this being difficult to use, that's because using a tarp like these does have some learning curve. 

I love that it folds small and fits in a bag that could be attached to a backpack. I ended up removing the red sand bags and leave those home since we camp on regular soil most of the time. 

This is a must have for any patrol.

Versatile

ok so i bought this reading the previous reviews before i took a chance on it alot of folks were complaining that it was flimsy and just no good especially for the beach where it was windy. well i'm here to contradict those statements. not only did i have mine set up on the beach but it was a  beach camp ground and i had no problems with it staying up with the wind blowing it every which way. it even with stood a storm with gusty winds and i only had to adjust it a couple of times to accomdate the wind blowing. it made a great shelter shade and it was worth the price. and just to mention i thought the poles would have been super flimsy and crappy they are not they are good sturdy poles that fold up like tent poles do. really cool set up most helpful for everything! i highly reccomend. i will use mine again for sure!

I was very happy to receive the Ozark Trail Multipurpose Tarp Shelter as it was exactly what I was expecting it to be. I have only had it for a couple of days so I can't testify as to how long it will last but it seems to be made of good strong quality material and the seams are all reinforced.
It was simple to assemble and it can be used for various purposes. I had my husband just quickly put it up in the side yard for when we or any children stop by they can have a place to get out of the hot sun, He didn't even add he sand to he bags and it's staying in place just fine, but a strong wind would possible blow it down. If camping it will be a great addition to the tent as an add on , like a front porch would be ! I am actually going to put it up on my front deck for a while as the sun is so hot I can't even sit outside. The size is big at 12 x 12 and the pitch is high , I like that you can configure it to fit your space and needs. It's great that it comes with the spikes and sand bags which I will need when using on my deck. This would also be great for a hiker, it only weighs like 5 lbs. and packs in it's own roll like tote bag. This will keep you , friends, family and children safe from the hot scorching sun or a down pour of rain. The Ozark Tarp Shelter is definitely a very versatile product and I like it a lot. I would have gave 5 stars but have not owned it long enough to know how long it will last , but thinking it should be a good long time. 
Update: My husband just stated he thinks it would have been better if there were one more pole.
my husband would probably also wanted the sand to have been added too !

Exactly as Described

Needed something quick and cheap to camp at a music festival with no shade.  This was a great choice. There was nothing to tie anything to so we just did the standard "pup tent" assembly. Beefy plastic stakes were included (would have expected thin metal ones at this price.) I was initially concerned about the wind but it did fine.  It doesn't completely block the sun, and never had a chance to see if it's of any use in the rain- was covered with dew outside and in in the morning, so you had to try not to brush up against it.   Overall good purchase and glad to have it as part of my camping kit.

When the tarp arrived it was packed nicely in a compact box. The tarp and accessories were in a lightweight bag similar to a camping chair bag. The tarp wasn't at all what I expected. It was a nice, lightweight yet durable tarp that's easy to handle. The poles assemble/disassemble very easily. It also comes with some stakes and sandbags which are a nice bonus just in case you should need them. We put the tarp up in the backyard to provide us with some extra shade & it was the perfect size for what we needed. When it was time to pack it back up, the tarp rolled up fast & easily. We were able to fit everything back into the carrying bag with no problem. 
This tarp is definitely worth a purchase

Good Tarp

Shipping was terrible. Product was sitting in a busted box on my porch. Product seems to be unharmed.

the tarp itself is well made , poles are adequate, stakes are plastic junk , i use timber spikes on all my tents anyhow , so no big deal , spent 4 days in the rain covering our cook / hangout area ordered 2 more to cover our tents , it is  lighter than a plastic tarp and packs easily

The package arrived incomplete, apparently they did not pack the tip of one of the poles and I have not been able to use it. I think this is very common with this seller as it even comes with a note to call a phone number to report missing parts. I am still waiting for the seller to respond as the warranty is directly with them and not with Walmart.
