Sound Review - Crosley voyager record player
Daniele Silingardi
From the brand
A needle for every groove.
From our stylish line of record players to our high-quality turntables, we're working to bring new life to a classic medium.
-
Amplify Your Style. This is our mantra. Individual expression is a part of everything we do. We're not bound by time or age. From art to clothing to spaces, the things we share on social media and with others are all part of our worldview. Why should music be any different? Colorful and fun, sleek and modern, funky and eclectic: there's a Crosley for everyone.
-
Be Seen. Be Heard.
Taking cues from awesome feedback from music lovers everywhere, Crosley is taking on the future with a heart of adventure.
-
How did we get our start?
We get our moniker from Powell Crosley, who lived a century ago and possessed a clear vision of the future. In the 1920s he knew music was for the people and created a radio for everyone. In keeping with his tradition and spirit we decided the vinyl experience was also for everyone. Our first turntable was released in 1992 when CDs were still king. Naturally, everyone thought we were nuts. But now, after 30+ years of bringing stylish music to the people, we manufacture the turntables, radios, and accessories that help everyone discover their own music.
-
What makes our products unique?
We're listening to music, to the world, and we're listening to you. Whatever your budget or tastes in music, there's a Crosley for you.

I’m a casual music lover. I like music. But I don’t go out of my way to listen to it so I never saw the need for a record player.
But I saw this one and thought it was very cute and I was thinking why not? I could enter into my record listening to era. I’m a grown up, there’s no one to stop me.
So I bought the record player and I don’t know just putting a record on has brought me so much joy.
True the sound quality isn’t the BEST but it’s pretty good for just having music on in the background. If you want to blast your records, buy some speakers for it! Honestly I might do so myself in time. Like I said I bought it because it was cute. Which, I understand, is not the proper reason to buy a record player. But I am pleased with my purchase so I don’t care!

YOU SO ARE WRONG. DO NOT BUY THIS.
I'm new to the record player world, and even I can tell that this is the lowest of low quality.
-First, my box came completely sealed- there was no damage to either outside boxes or to the outside casing of the player itself. That points to me that this is CLEARLY a factor quality issue.
-It says it comes with an AC adapter. There's even a slip in the box that points to the AC adapter. Absolutely no adapter was there. That slot was completely empty.
-Then I actually opened up the player, and I IMMEDIATELY knew it was broken. The (stand? Plastic player piece?) was COMPLETELY disconnected from the rest of the boxed housing, enough so where I could stick my finger in there. Since I had no adapter (I tried several adapters that I personally own with the same voltage, but none worked, making me wonder if this would even turn on at all even if I had the adapter), I put a record on and emulated it spinning. It wobbled to such a degree that it was tilting drastically every revolution. Even if it worked and I got it turned on and could put a record on, no needle could stay on the record the way it tilted. Like I said, the gap the way it is out of the box, I could easily fit fingers in there, and it feels like it's just a few wires away from being lifted off the box completely.
To all you new record player people- Don't do it. I don't have a solution, but I'm starting to lose hope that there are any low range decent record players on the market. If you buy this, expect the lowest quality audio player you can think of, then lower your expectations 10x more.
Good luck to everyone out there.

First, this turntable is a bit larger than I expected, notably larger than the standard Victrola models, so it's crucial to double-check the measurements to ensure it fits your space comfortably. This isn't a problem for me, but having only ever bought Victrola players, I was surprised by how much bigger this one was. It's not huge, just bigger.
Onto the sound quality - here's where I encountered some issues. There seems to be a consistent echo on every vinyl I've played so far. I'm not sure if it's user error on my part, but it's something to be aware of. It's possible that there might be an adjustment needed, or maybe it's specific to this model, I'm not sure. It's kind of annoying, and I've found the only way to drown it out is by turning the volume way up which isn't always practical. I'm not sure if using external speakers would help either, just watch out for the issue if you buy it.
Even so, this is a stylish and eye-catching turntable with a lot of great patterns and designs to choose from. However, the larger size and potential sound issues should be taken into account before purchasing.
