Thank you for your question. The Safavieh Kerman Outdoor Modern 5 Piece Set has an oil finish. Please note the care instructions for this product says to Store outdoor furniture indoors or cover well when not in use. Remove wooden furniture from standing water.

It's the wood surface lacquered? I'm looking for a table that will be permanently in a NYC balcony, so weather will be extreme in winter.

This table was the best purchase we've made for our smaller home. The delivery was made when promised and the table comes fully assembled! We purchased the gray wash since we have a coastal theme in our home and it looks lovely. The chairs are comfortable. I've already used it for doing some craft projects and my husband and I have played games on it, as well as eaten at it. We just can't be more pleased!

Beautiful! Just as ad shows. Solid wood. Strong and sturdy. Perfect finish and size. Not to small or big. Compact. The color is perfect medium wood color. It says what a beautiful summer day all over it just by looking at it.

This set arrived damaged.  The box was not fit to return the items and we did not want to go through the hassle of returning it.  Hayneedle worked with us and we received a discount that enabled us to have the table repaired.  The set itself is beautiful and we look forward to using it.

Would definitely buy again

Love it!  Very compact.  Attractive and portable.  Weighs 60 lbs.  Beautiful  wood!  Very sturdy.  Id buy it again.  The chairs store in the base for easy storage.  Great for tiny outdoor spaces, balconies, apartment patios...

Great Space Saver!

Delivered on time, packed very well, loved the color and ease of setting up. We have this on a screened in porch so when a storm comes through its very easy to fold up and cover.

The table was described as ""natural"", but the table that arrived was darker than the one in the picture and the box said ""teak look"". It also had a crack. I would have preferred the lighter natural table shown in the picture, but the teak worked ok so I decided it wasn't a real problem.  I contacted hayneedle about the crack and I can't praise their customer service enough. Instead of just telling me to rewrap the table and return it, which was not something I was looking forward to, I was offered 2 options. I could return it or accept a partial refund. I chose the second option and was notified that same day that the money had been refunded. I can't say enough about the customer service.

Exceptional customer service

The set is great. Arrived very well packaged with a ton of packaging (Vacuum cleaner was super helpful for cleanup). Two of four chairs would not open. We were able to sand the groove down a bit and then they opened completely but at this price point I would assume that wouldn't be necessary.

Great set, but needed a little touch up

This little set fits perfectly on our deck, stows away so nicely and then rolls out for company. The light grey color matches our other deck furniture perfectly.  There are pegs to hold the table leaves in place so there is no chance of someone bumping the leg and having it collapse.  HOWEVER, on first use a friend (225 lbs) sat in one on the chairs and a seat slat broke. Very embarrassing for everyone.  The chairs are rated for 275 lbs but apparently they can not handle anything near that weight.  The other concern is the table top. In the brochure that came with the furniture it advises that the top of the table be sealed so that it does not stain from coffee or wine.  As of now we can not find any sealant that can be put over paint so we are left having to use a plastic table cloth.

Practical but not of great quality

I had such a wonderful experience from beginning to end ordering this dining set. Easy hassle free ordering, great customer service,  timely arrival,  and exceptionally packaging.  However,  I used this dining set for the first time yesterday and it was a TOTAL disappointment !! The chairs are so uncomfortable and don't have any support for the mid to lower back area. Sitting at the table with 3 under than average sized adults(110-130 lbs) was very awkward and uncomfortable for all .Great concept but not comfortable or functional. Very disappointed.
