These companies need to make sneakers that are more durable. I have several pairs of sneakers, half of them New Balance but the durabilty is terrible. 6 months old and completely shot. Don't tell me they can't come up with better materials in the high wear spots. I keep buying them, because Nike is just as bad, Skechers are worse. I try different brands to see if anything will last, but I do like the comfort of this style so they are my go to sneakers.

    I would not recommend working out in these, they will likely get damaged. Running should be ok, but don't use these as running shoes, because they aren't really durable. I use them as casual shoes, just walking. They are very comfortable and the insoles come out if you want to put some Dr. Scholls in them, just cut the new insole into the shape of the original insole that came with the shoe.

    Update: I've been wearing them, running and walking every day in them for the past month and a half. They hold up very well. Nothing has happened to them, they just got dirty, so I mixed dishwashing detergent in water and scrubbed the sole and outside of the shoe. They still look pretty new, even after falling, stepping in mud, taking sharp steps, etc. For the price, they're very decent shoes and I'd recommend them.

    I've been through several pairs of New Balance shoes, relegating them to gym duty as the get too scruffy. I've gotten different styles over the years as older models were replace but the selection criteria remained the same -- they shouldn't look too weird. so I'd go for muted colors. These are a great option, looking like black dress shoes while providing the NB comfort for walking.

    I read a lot of the negative reviews about these shoes and was a little nervous but bought them anyway. I can honestly say all the negative things I read were completely wrong in my case. The comfort right out of the box was perfect, as I would expect. I have been wearing New Balance for many years and have rarely if ever been disappointed. The fit was perfect too. Soon after I put them on, I went for a 25-minute walk. They felt great with no break in needed. This was despite the fact that I had a large open blister on the back of my foot due to a walk with another pair of shoes. Another negative thing I read was that the shoes were too heavy. I definitely did not find this to be the case. They were as light as I expected. I am very happy with the purchase and would buy them again.

    I started walking 3-4 miles per day during COVID and don't intend to break the habit anytime soon. At 37, I didn't really think I'd need a shoe specialize to walking, but this helped me. I also run about 3 miles 1-3 times per week. At one point, I was using a fairly new, but cheap pair of running shoes to run in and an older pair of basketball shoes to walk in (the soles were smooth on the ball of the foot). I developed a severe shin splint on my left leg (mostly from running in cheap running shoes I think). I also had some hamstring irritation and a slight knee strain at one point. I took about a month off of physical activity, since I could barely walk from kitchen to my living room given how bad the shin splint became. I knew when I was ready to return to physical activity, I wanted to up my shoe game to prevent re-injury. I bought these walking shoes and returned to nearly daily walking while the shin splint was still a bit painful until everything warmed up. I could tell nothing was getting worse during my walks with these shoes on (unlike my worn out basketball shoes). I eventually bought a $200 pair of running shoes too. It's now been 3 months since I took my month long break. The shin splint is gone and I can run and/or walk daily with no shin splints, hamstring irritation or knee issues thanks to these great walking shoes (and my running shoes). Very satisfied!

    This was my third pair of footwear that I purchased in the last 6 months. My metatarsals on both feet were aching, due to wearing some rubber boots I would wear on the job after the support for the metatarsals had collapsed. As far as this shoe is concerned, I replaced the insole immediately before wearing, with something of better quality. The placement of the treads on the bottom of this shoe were perfectly aligned with the metatarsals, so they receive excellent support at all times. I also found the width to be great (I wear a D width). I am now using these both for work and the gym. I highly recommend. Update: I had to drop my rating from a 5 star to a 3 star. After wearing these shoes for 2-3 months my metatarsals we no longer fond of these shoes. What I described as treads should actually be called cleats. These cleats could be felt through the insole I purchased, and began to cause my feet to ache. For the record I use a rigid medium thick insole.
