Extremely impressed but quickly disappointed when I spotted hole

Extremely impressed but quickly disappointed when I spotted hole
I bought mine used but you wouldn’t know that if I hadn’t told you. Everything was intact from the manufacturer as if it had never been used. The size is perfect. I can fit 2 single man cots 2 tv trays, and all our gear inside the tent with more than enough room to spare. I love the color. Set up and take down was so easy I did it by myself in less than 30 min.Update: we went camping this weekend and while I was laying in my cot looking up at the ceiling of the tent I noticed a hole in the screen of the tent. Unless I can exchanged the tent I would like to get a partial credit or some sort of patch repair kit. I have posted a photo of the hole in the review.

This tent is really great and I can't wait to use it this summer. It has plenty of ventilation (would use it on Ragbrai) We did a trial run in the garage. I am really surprised more tent makers haven't started offering a tall tent. Now I will be able to change my clothes easily and won't have to perform gymnastic moves to get out of the tent. The quality is decent, and the tent had no noticeable flaws. Would buy it again. I will update in July.

I didn’t upgrade to a tall tent because my older Kelty was in great shape after many years. Finally upgraded and I am so glad I did, this tent is roomy, easy to set up, and packs better than other tents I’ve owned.

The tent is good quality and replaced my Eureka tent I’ve had for years. Assembly is easy and even with the prefitted base it was up in less then 10 minutes. The height is wonderful and the interior pockets and hang loop at the top of the peak was perfect for my fan/light. The biggest downfall? The zipper flap. What a pain in the ass it was to keep the flap out of the zipper. Hence the 4 stars and not 5

Wow. Took it for a camp out this weekend and I was really happy. Great sky view with rain fly off. Woke up about 4am to very cold temps and the rain fly went on very quickly and easily. This was such a great tent I couldn’t stop saying it aloud. I’m 6’2 and love being able to put on pants standing up. Amazing tent. Lots of room. Very happy.

    2022. It’s true.
This is not for summer use. Ordered the very breezy Copper Canyon 6. Woo… what an upgrade. I stand by this as an excellent fair weather tent, but ventilation is lacking my friends. Sorry.

I love this tent. The wide door opening is nice to fit a queen sized air mattress inside. There is plenty of floor space and head room. The tent is well made with quality material. The floor material extends up the side to make the tent water proof from the ground. I can put this tent up myself but it is easier with 2 people. There is a strong tension on the poles. I was sure to set it up at home before bring it on a trip. I am very happy with this tent and I look forward to may years of use.

First the pros. I love the size and space, I can stand up inside which is what I was looking for. No issues with leaks. I really had high hopes as I have a smaller Kelty backpacking tent that's been awesome. That was has metal poles. This one came with fiberglass ones. Which is fine for its price point but the workmanship has been atrocious. I've had cheap tents with fiberglass poles that lasted a decade. These didn't last a season. Poles were never abused. Tent never even faced high winds. But the ends of the poles cracked, giving me nasty micro fiberglass splinters. I put duct tape to mitigate things and at least prevent more splinters. Finally the bungee cord frayed and broke making them useless. Part of the issue is that you need metal joints at each end, not just the female joint. The male joint needs a metal tube to prevent cracking. The floor of the tent is nylon, not tarp, so you'll probably need a footprint. Other nitpicks, wish it had a back window and a larger front window for cross breeze. If they'd fix these issues this could be a 4 or 5 star tent but as of now I cannot recommend it. I put in a warranty claim, we'll see how that goes. Even if they send me replacement poles, if they're the same I'd be reluctant to use them lest they just split again.

Update: I contacted them for warranty. They responded saying they did not have any replacement poles to send me. Maybe they stopped making them. They offered to try to fix mine if I mailed them in. Not worth the trouble. And I wouldn't want those splinter sticks anyway even if they did 'fix' them. In the end, sadly, I just trashed the whole tent to the landfill. Bought a Coleman 4 person. I can't stand up in it but it's been way more reliable. And For a stand up tent, I have an REI 6 man with aluminum poles. Frantastic tent just too much time to set up for a weekend. Maybe someday they will fulfill my dream of an easy set up, tell, stand up tent.

This tent held up just fine with some rain and light wind. Just enough of a breeze comes through to help you sleep comfortably. I searched a long time to find a breathable tent as I can’t sleep if I’m too hot and this worked for me. Would recommend.

Used quite extensively this summer on a few trips and so far been great.

    Pros:
Weather resistant in windstorms will not blow over in my experience of 80km/h winds

Very roomy, fits queen size air mattress with room to stand fully upright.

    Cons:
The tent is cumbersome to setup doable by yourself a bit easier with two people but still a pain.

The front doors rain fly gets stuck in the zipper pretty often, have to be careful when opening and closing.

The frame feels cheap and will eventually break replacement poles are available through Kelty for a fair price.

Overall good purchase I got it on sale for $280 I wouldn’t pay more than that personally.
    Definitely recommend.
