Terrible lace hook design
1 Star
Terrible lace hook design
I slipped the second I walked out of the door because of the inner lacing hocks facing each other. This is a terrible design and luckily I was not on a cliff. The hock then pepped off and I tried every possible way to fix it. But I literally cannot fix it! Not recommend this.

Absolutely love these boots. Ordered normal size and they fit perfect. I’ve heard others complain about the width. All I can say is if your foot fits in a normal width running shoe, there shouldn’t be any issue. Used them for snowshoeing today and they were great! Ran into a little slush, but no leakage. The only thing that is left to be desired is better laces.

I don't want to sound like a snob, but my Winter clothings are all Arc'teryx. I know the look and feel of the brand. Believe it or not, I got the last size 13 boot in stock; the Arc'teryx website was out of stock. I find the Arc'teryx boots comfortable, so I wear them year round. I buy a replacement pair every six months. The AMAZON seller gave me 25% off just like the Arc’teryx website; again, the Arc'teryx website was out of stock. 👍

ARC'TERYX: ACRUX TR GTX BOOT MEN'S
Sleek looking Lightweight Gore-Tex Hiking/Backpacking Boots!

I've been wearing Arc'Teryx Apparel & Gear for over 20 years. Second time purchasing they're footwear. I wanted to wait until Arc'Teryx properly dialed-in their Boots & Sneakers.

The first pair of Arc'teryx footwear I just purchased was the Men's Aerios FL Mid GTX, and their are nothing but a lightweight Mid Gore-Tex Sneakers - they are NOT boots, and that's what I wanted. I returned a second pair of the Aerios FL Mid GTX's to get the Men's Acrux TR GTX Boots, good decision. These are sleek looking lighter-weight hiking/backpacking boots.

I am looking for and wearing more and more Gore-Tex Sneakers and lighter-weight Hiking Boots, so the more properly fitting Gore-Tex Boots to add to my footwear collection the better! It's nice to have options depending on the season, weather, temperature, and outfit to add to my footwear quiver. You don't always want to have to wear your heavy hiking-boots that lacks underfoot comfort just to keep your feet dry and free of debris that enables you to quickly rinse off without ruining your other expensive footwear. I intend on wearing these cool looking boots for more every-day outdoor wear with urban styling.

Pros: Styling is super sleek as I love! They come in Black/Gray, a must! Climbing Shoelace Lacing System, Quality Climbing Shoelaces, cool looking SuperFabric, OrthoLite Insoles, toe protection.

Cons: That I would like to see the Arc'Teryx Designers tweak.

Sizing/Fitment: I feel they run pretty much true to size. BUT I would like to see the length shortened by 1 mm! I always need and require a performance-fit with having low to mid-volume feet. I feel the heel-cup could've been more aggressively contoured for a better heel-lockdown which is crucial.

Comfort: The OrthoLite Insoles should definitely have more cushioning! Lacking arch support! I would like to see MORE needed Arch Support! I feel the Acrux TR GTX Boots are a bit flat-footed which I'm not used to, nor do I like due to the lack of heel height.

Outersole/Midsole: I would like to see the midsole have additional heel stack-height of 1-2 mm so the boots have a more aggressive drop, and so you can have a more aggressive attack while walking/hiking. The Vibram Megagrip could be more contoured and have a cooler/sleeker looking tread pattern, and a more tacky grip.

Quality: 4-Stars. I totally like and dig the cool looking and feeling SuperFabric! I don't care about weight. I care about proper fitment, overall comfort, underfoot comfort, lockdown, styling, durability, grip, longevity, and most importantly quality!

Request: I would like to see a heavier-duty Men's Acrux AR GTX Boots in SuperFabric with Leather version as well!!!

As a Creative Director & Designer I've always stated and recommended to corporate, if there's footwear that's popular why not make it in two different widths. One Performance Width which is what I desire and need, and one in a Wide Width to make every end-user happy.

Pros: Styling, Climbing Shoelace System
Cons: Underfoot Cushioning, Heel Height, Lacking Arch Support!
Activity: Every-day outdoor wear, walking, hiking, around town.

Lite weight and quality. They don't feel as heavy duty as my Asolo or Zamberlain. But solid and sturdy for lite material.
