Purchased the fossil print version of these shorts and love them, great sizing and a cool print. the false crotch flap threw me off at first but isn't really an issue at all.

Great Swim Short!

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. I used these shorts a bunch this summer. I took them on rafting trips, hiked to waterfalls in them, swam, floated our local river, and even did some cliff jumping. They’re a great all around short. As far as features, I found the shorts quite comfortable and appreciated the stretchiness of the fabric. I felt like I was able to move well in them without being constricted. The zippered back pocket was a great touch to have a place to keep my keys secured while in the water. My one gripe with the shorts was that they didn’t dry as fast as I’d have liked. It seemed like they would stay slightly damp for a while. Most really quick drying shorts that I’ve worn have had a rougher feel and been less flexible. In most cases, I’m willing to make the trade to have the comfort. The one sport where I didn’t enjoy that was rafting. It seemed that I was just consistently getting wet and sitting in wet shorts all day. On other activities I could take them off as I needed and it wasn’t an issue. I’m 6”0” 180lbs with a 32-34 waist and very large butt. I got these shorts in a size L. That seemed to fit well. To me the seemed to run slightly longer than I’d expect from a 5” short.

If you are a fan of Baggies, these are the perfect substitute at a more affordable price point. Immediately took them on a 7 mile hike in South Mountains State Park in NC and they held up through water, mud, and rock climbing. Highly recommend for hiking, swimming, running, or lounging.
