They are quite warm. I don&#39;t know in degrees. They are hot enough you don&#39;t want to hold them directly on your skin, but rather work best in a glove designed with a pocket for the warmer. If you don&#39;t have a glove like this you could put it in your pocket.

I couldn't find a date on the large package, but the individual packs inside my bag say "EXP2017 02 19".

each individual package has an expiration date printed on the back-- LOOK FOR IT! hothands say they have a 4 year shelf life from manufacture date--so if it is may 2015 and expiration is may 2016-- the pack is already 3 years old before you bought it. PLUS - make sure the package is pliable / bendable-- if it feels hard to the touch--it is NOT good and will not heat at all--ONCE ANY AIR [even a pinhole in package] HAS GOTTEN TO THE INSIDE PRODUCT IT WILL BE ACTIVATED AND RUINED IN A FEW HOURS.-- that info is per hothands manufacturers. chemicals in product are AIR activated and NOT REUSABLE.

It&#39;s air activated. once you open the packet it starts to heat up slowly, it takes a couple minutes at first. It lasts about 8 hours, but if you only use it for about an hour I recommend sealing it in a ziplock for later use

Warmed by kindness. These little handwarmers were just the right price at just the right time. I am coming out of paralysis and there heavily depend on my online and delivery personnel. My Wal-Mart plus app gets my orders available and delivery staff bring them to my door. But 27 degree weather froze my delivery staff and my homeless friends alike. I bought several packages of these handwarmers and distributed them to my food driver and to my future friends who hadn't the present comfort of a warm home like I have.
