Power Air Hoodie

When you wash your favorite fleece, it does more than soak away the sand and dirt from your last climbing trip. Unfortunately, washing our fleeces releases thousands of microfibers into our waterways, where they become a harmful part of the ecosystem. Houdini is working to find a solution to this problem with their Power Air Hoodie. Developed with Polartec, this lightweight fleece delivers comfortable warmth that layers well in the winter, stands alone in the fall and spring, and stretches comfortably whenever you wear it. But more importantly, it sheds up to five times fewer microfibers than standard fleeces when washed. The Power Air accomplishes this task by substituting a traditional exposed fleece construction for one in which the insulating fleece fibers are trapped inside small pockets. This not only creates heat-trapping pockets that insulate you well without adding weight, but also cuts back dramatically on the amount of fibers that can enter our rivers and oceans, letting you feel good in more ways than one.

Excellent urban alternative to sweater

I was shocked at how physically heavy this thin hoodie is. I put it on an immediately was warm. Not too good when it is the middle of summer (it is August), but is definitely what I want for fall/winter. Tired of having to drag out my sweaters when it is too cold for a basic sweatshirt hoodie. This will be the perfect add on between summer and winter. Can't wait to also wear it under a down jacket for extra warmth in the winter.

I truly love my power hoodi, but this version misses the whole package mark for me. PROs: the cut is amazing and fits true to Houdini style. For taller women, this rocks. The fabric looks and feels expensive, clean cut, and like it will last forever. i appreciate the concept of this piece as a more environmentally friendly fleece. the weight drapes nicely against my body. 5 stars for style. CONs: Its difficult to see in the stock photos, but this hoody is quilted, tiny little quilted squares, and when Im out on the water, or up on the mountain, I can feel the wind whip right through all those knitted seams. Definitely not as warm as Houdini's power fleece. It is heavy for a fleece. So not great for managing pack weight. 3 stars for functionality. I enjoy wearing this on the town, or at the gym, rather than in the wild.
