Instructions
1. Line an ungreased baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add water, 3 tablespoons sugar, salt, and 3 tablespoons oil. Stir until mixture reaches a boil, about 4 minutes, then remove from heat.
3. Add flour and stir until combined.
4. Scoop dough into a large piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Let dough cool until you are able to hold the bag comfortably, about 10 minutes.
5. Pipe dough into 6” lines onto prepared baking sheet.
Place sheet into freezer to set 1 hour.
6. In a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat, add remaining 4 cups oil. It should measure to a depth of about 3”. Heat until oil reaches 375°F. Line a large plate with paper towels and set aside.
7. In a medium shallow bowl, combine remaining sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
8. Carefully slide one Churro into hot oil. Flip while frying until golden brown, about 2 minutes total.

About the author
As a child who grew up in Anaheim, California, Ashley Craft could recite the Star Tours ride by heart, navigate the Park without a map, and fell asleep to the sound of Disneyland fireworks each night in her bedroom. After two internships at Walt Disney World and many, many more visits to the Disney Parks, Ashley is now one of the leading experts of Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Her popular blog, Ashley Crafted, is best known for featuring recipes inspired by Disney Park foods to help people recreate that Disney magic right in their own kitchens. Today, Ashley lives in Kansas with her husband, Danny, and three kids, Elliot, Hazel, and Clifford…but she still makes time to visit the Mouse. Learn more at AshleyCrafted.com.

First let me address the most important thing - the Dole Whip recipe in this book! It is different than the copycat version that Disney released a couple of years back. This Dole Whip recipe is very good, and if I had gotten the book for that alone, I would be more than happy with my purchase!
Now for what I mean by managed expectations… this book is not a test-kitchen, celebrity-chef, or a culinary institute level collection of recipes. Any more than a trip to Epcot is equivalent to traveling the world. With that said, all the recipes that I have made have been pretty good. As for planning ahead, some recipes require special ingredients or tools (Mickey Mouse cookie cutter) but nothing too difficult or too expensive. Additionally, I would be prepared to tweak some of the recipes to personal tastes, but then again, isn’t that true for almost all cookbooks.
Here are the things that I can attest to from my own experience. I made the Bacon Mac & Cheese Hot Dogs, and the mac and cheese recipe was just right - creamy, easy, and simply good. My husband and son loved the Roasted Turkey Legs, and I loved how easy they were to make. The Pizza Egg Rolls and Cheeseburger Egg Rolls were a little dry in the fillings, but dipping sauces fixed that. I made the Loaded Buffalo Chicken Tots, and then I used the leftover buffalo chicken as well as leftover egg roll wrappers, added cream cheese and blue cheese crumbles to make Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls too. The Beignets were fine, but next time I will use an actual NOLA recipe even if I do cut them into mouse shapes. The sugar cookies were very good – an easy to handle dough that yielded a pleasantly soft and buttery cookie – this may actually become my go-to sugar cookie recipe. The recipe that I haven’t made yet but I’m looking forward to is the School Bread from the Norway Pavilion.
Beyond the recipes, the book is fun to read. Lots of little tidbit information about the parks and plenty of colorful photos. On the whole, I am glad that I bought this book.
