• COMFORT FEEL

  With a medium-firm feel, our Eco Organic Mattress is ideal for side sleepers, as well as back sleepers and stomach sleepers. It provides optimized pressure relief and contours to your body’s natural curves. It is slightly less firm than our Avocado Green Mattress.

• GOLS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC LATEX

  We use GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex (CU863637), which is also Rainforest Alliance and FSC® certified (C156318). We make our GOLS-certified organic latex from co-owned farmer's societies and processing facilities in India and Guatemala, operating under the USDA's National Organic Program. It's made with ≥95% certified organic latex, the highest possible standard. Dunlop latex is naturally antimicrobial, cooler than memory foam, requires no adhesives to seam it together, and is more durable than Talalay latex. It is processed in a GOLS-certified organic facility in India that we also co-own. Our Eco Organic Mattress uses one seamless layer of organic latex — 2 inches in the comfort layer (D65 / 14-19 ILD, soft). Our organic latex also features certifications from eco-INSTITUT® label and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100: Class 1 (19.0.79546, Hohenstein HTTI).

• GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC WOOL

  The benefits of wool’s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: it wicks away moisture, keeps your mattress smelling fresh, and acts as another all-natural fire barrier. It’s breathable — both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body, and soft support characteristics. And it’s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. At Avocado, we add a layer of pure, naturally crimped GOTS-certified organic wool (CU 863637) (1 ounce per square foot) under the organic certified cotton ticking in every mattress. We do not blend any rayon, polyester, or flame retarding chemicals with our wool. Our organic wool has received OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100: Class 1 certification (19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI) — which requires annual lab testing to ensure no harmful substances are present as a result of processing, to include banned substances, toxic chemicals, pesticides, and dyes. • GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON

  For a luxurious and premium finish, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU863637) in a soft, natural color, for a luxurious and premium finish, over a generous layer of organic wool with thin non-woven backing as a natural fire barrier. We do not use polyester fiber. Responsibly and ethically sourced from India, Turkey, Canada, and North Carolina, our organic cotton is a durable textile. We use rings to keep all the layers of the mattress in place without using toxic glues. 

• INNERSPRING UNIT

  We use up to 1,000 8-inch individually wrapped coils (in the California King). Made in our manufacturing facility, our border coils are 16 gauge, while the interior zone coils are 14 gauge for enhanced durability. Encased in food-grade, non-woven, and non-toxic polypropylene fabric, these premium springs float independently to improve airflow, support, and spinal alignment. The coils are assembled using a safe, environmentally-conscious adhesive composed of tested components: Waxes (CAS 8002-74-2), Resin (CAS 8050-26-8), Antioxidant (CAS 6683-19-8), and EVA Polymer (CAS 24937-78-8). Made from heat-treated and stress-relieved up-cycled steel, these coils provide firm edge support and assist with back pain and pressure-point relief. Additionally, the finished innerspring unit meets OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, EWG Verified®, MADE SAFE®, GREENGUARD Gold, and Formaldehyde-Free Claim Verification standards, ensuring the highest safety and environmental benchmarks.

• HELD TOGETHER WITH RINGS, NOT GLUE

  Some companies use toxic chemical glues to bind their mattress layers together, which contributes to off-gassing and indoor air pollution. We do not. Instead, we use simple durable metal rings made from recycled steel to keep our mattress layers firmly in place. This mattress should not be stored in an upright position when not in use.

• NO FLAME RETARDANTS

  No flame retardants are used. Our Eco Organic Mattress uses only GOTS-certified organic wool, which is naturally fire-resistant. This wool has also been tested for harmful substances and meets OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100: Class 1 certification (19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI). 

• Tested for PFAS

  PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of man-made chemicals used in various industries worldwide. Known for their persistence in the environment and in the human body, they are often referred to as "forever chemicals." At Avocado, we're committed to ensuring our products are free from harmful levels of PFAS. Our mattresses have been rigorously tested using advanced techniques such as Liquid Chromatographic/Tandem Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS/MS) analysis and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis for 241 PFAS substances. This testing method is superior to generic organic fluorine screening tests, which can often be inaccurate and fail to detect specific PFAS compounds. • FIRMNESS RATING AND PERFORMANCE TESTING

  On a scale of 1 - 10 (with 10 being the firmest), our Eco Organic Mattress rates as a 5, which is gentle yet medium firm. It's ideally suited for back and stomach sleepers, as well as lighter individuals and growing children — anyone needing natural cushioning and medium-firm support.

• CLIMATE NEUTRAL CERTIFIED

  As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we've measured Avocado's annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We also recognize our offsets and reductions aren't enough. Solving climate change will require systemic solutions. That's why, through our partnerships with Ceres and the American Sustainable Business Network, we also advocate for state and federal policies that support equitable solutions to the climate crisis.

• PROJECT ZERO WASTE

  We're proud to be certified by UL Solutions for a landfill diversion rate of 85%. That means only 15% of our manufacturing waste ends up in the landfill — we upcycle or recycle the rest. Since we began Project Zero Waste in 2020, we've been a pioneer in the space, increasing our waste diversion rate by 33%. We are the first mattress and bedding company to achieve this. • NEW PAPER WRAP PACKAGING

  Mattress ships in a convenient rectangular box. The Eco Organic Mattress is vacuum sealed in recyclable plastic, but will soon be wrapped and rolled in upcycled paper — saving up to 30 feet of plastic per mattress! Paper can be recycled. This eco-friendly process is used on 90% of our mattresses. Avocado is one of the only mattress makers in America to wrap their mattresses in paper.

• 10-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

  A 10-year limited warranty covers the Eco Organic Mattress. All foundations, bunkie boards, bed frames, and adjustable bases sold by Avocado have been specifically designed to meet the structural support requirements of this warranty if used correctly and unaltered. Foundations, bunkie boards, bed frames, and adjustable bases purchased from third-party vendors (not purchased from Avocado) must meet the minimum structural requirements outlined in our warranty. • 100-NIGHT SLEEP TRIAL

  Your 100-Night Avocado Eco Organic Mattress trial begins after you receive your mattress and is limited to one mattress per household after a minimum of 30 days, according to policy terms and conditions. Shipping and in-home delivery setup fees are non-refundable. Returned mattresses incur a $99 fee. The mattress box must be opened within 30 days of receipt. • UNBOXING YOUR MATTRESS

  Unboxing your mattress is easy, but it can be heavy. Be sure to recycle all packaging materials. You can sleep on your mattress immediately.

• LAW LABEL

  A law label is a legally required tag or label on new mattresses describing interior filling materials. Few companies will share this information before your purchase. We believe differently. Here's what the legal tag on the Eco Organic Mattress says: Made with internal materials (based on weight) consisting of Latex Foam Rubber Pad (91%) and Wool Fiber (9%), plus a 100% Organic Cotton Cover.
