Our kits are compatible with most Windows, Mac, and Chromebook laptops & desktops. This includes Windows 7 and up & Mac OSX 10.9 and up. Our kits are not compatible with tablets or smartphones. We do not support Linux computers, but they may work.

Yes, our coding software is online. You can use a Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera web browser to code.

Do I have to subscribe to the coding projects/software?
No, our projects and resources are free and open for anyone with a kit. There are no logins or passwords for kids to forget - they can just open a web browser and start coding!

Can my kids share this kit?
Yes. When code is uploaded to the kit, it overwrites the last program that was loaded. You can share a kit and upload an infinite number of programs to it. Kids can also work together on the challenges - called pair programming - and most enjoy that.

We had run out of quality products that would allow her to move forward without jumping into complicated text books, and we saw her losing interest with the more "kid" oriented coding stuff that she'd already mastered. This kit, though pricey, is worth the expense. It comes nicely packaged and provides a ton of education. My daughter's said "It's awesome! The only thing missing is that I can't just build code on my own. Oh, and I wish there were more lessons." It was a gift for my grandchild and I was apologetic to my son because it was so little costing so much to see if maybe I should send it back also. He has a biomedical engineering degree and pointed out to me that one of the items runs a car. He said your car runs on 4 of these. I want you to know because she is an11 years old and was glad to have it because she said they are studying coding in school right now. It makes me feel that being old is not so bad because the next generation is being well prepared for the future. Its a GREAT product!

It did not work out of the box, a bit of troubleshooting pointed to a faulty connector on the USB cable. I notified the company through the web site. Within 20 minutes I received an email reply that contained an actual apology and promised a replacement cable would arrive before week's end. Sure enough, the cable arrived on Friday and that solved our problem. I spent the afternoon working with my grandson on Project 1 with several variations to the hardware and code. He is going to get a lot of good out of this kit. I recommend this company's products if you have an interested child in the target age range.
