This is a great iron for all hair types. I have thick hair and my daughters all have different textures and this works well for all of them. The plates allow the hair to glide smoothly without getting stuck or pulling. I really like the rounded sides as opposed to a squared edge like normal straightening irons. The round edge makes curling easy and fast and the heat settings allow the curl to retain for a long period time. Hair still has curl after sleeping on it. It also heats up extremely fast. I would highly recommend this over any other iron, especially if your goal is to get curls. The others are cheaper but if it doesn't work, as has been my experience, than it's a waste of money. If you can get over the initial cost, it's worth it.
