Diletta Mio is the best machine for home use
This is the second day of having my quick mill Diletta Mio from Seattle coffee gear. I adjusted the pressure to around 9 bar with some adjustment of my grinder. It took me no time to extract a great espresso naked and cappuccino shots. SCG support team were helpful in how to adjust the pressure and how to drain the boiler when the machine not in use for long time or for transport. I owned once an expensive quick mill HX machine and had a bad experience with it. I then got a Gaggia classic pro and with a lot of tinkering been able to get decent shots. I was influenced by a video of James Hoffman for showing how the Mio is really a super Gaggia. The quick mill Silvano is similar but I decided to get the Mio due to no burn stream wand, no wet stained bottom glass and the proximity of SCG to my location. I stored my Gaggia. I don't need tinkering anymore. I am really impressed with this machine hopefully will last for years.

This machine is of the absolute best quality and the customer service is above any other I have experienced. Katie and Edgar can lead you through any problems you may come into. Have me careful too do regular maintenance on the brew head and the steam wad, which seems to pick up some milk residuals.

Love my new Diletta Mio
I purchased my Diletta Mio from Seattle Coffee Gear after one of the very kind employees demonstrated the machine.
It has not disappointed! It was a replacement for my >15 year old Silvia Rancilio.
It has taken very little effort to perfect my shots. I love that the steamer has its own thermal block so there is no waiting to steam my milk after pulling shots.
It is slightly larger than the Rancilio but basic same footprint on my counter.

Still love it after 6 months!
This is my first espresso machine so my frame of reference is limited? but, I have really enjoyed this machine since I got it about 6 months ago. I particularly like that there is a separate heating element for steaming, so you don't have to adjust temperatures between pulling shots and steaming milk. That seemed to be a major differentiator between the Mio and several other machines at this price point.

Great espresso machine
The Diletto Mio is a huge step up from the Krups type 963 that I have been using for decades. It took the better part of a week to figure out how to dial in the dosing, grind, etc, but it is proving to be an excellent machine and is easy to work with. I purchased it in mid December, 2023. It has a lot of great features for the price point and I would definitely buy it again. I am pairing it with the Eureka Facile grinder, which I would also highly recommend.

Love my Mio!
I have owned a Rancilio Silvia for years but decided to treat myself with an upgrade to the Mio. I love this thing! I am getting consistently great pulls from it and it is so user friendly. The no burn steam wand cleans in an instant. Sure the steam is a little underpowered but it does the job and considering that the thermoblock provides instant steam after the pull, my total time is still much faster than the Silvia. I've owned the Mio for about a month and use it every day and every day I think how glad I am that I bought it.

Beautiful, Highly Functional Machine - A beginner's take
Hello, thought I'd take some time to do a review of my Diletta Mio. After doing years of pour-over, this is my first espresso machine, and my first machine review!

Overall, the Diletta Mio is an incredible machine for a first espresso machine. I've been using it for about thre weeks paired with a Eureka Mignon Zero, making 2-3 drinks a day.

Pros:

- Aesthetics and Form Factor:
- It's beautiful and very functional! I personally love the understated matte case machine with pops of Chrome, and the proportions say 'espresso machine' to me. Personally, I think it's one of the most beautiful machines out there.
- It has a large and functional cup warming area, benefiting from the boiler right below it, and the rails allow me to stack my gear safely. The side loading is what allows this huge area.
- The side-loading water tank has proven hugely convenient to me too. All of this works great in a small kitchen.
- It has a huge drip tray that's easy to remove and clean.

- Fast, Consistent Heating: I haven't timed it, but it heats up very fast, and with the boiler right above the brew group, the group and portafilter warms up quickly.

- Shot Pulling: This machine does not have a lot of adjustments, so for a newbie it's allowed me to focus on grind, dose, puck prep and temperature. I've gotten a few great shots from it - so any limitations are from my ability. It does have an OPV valve but I haven't adjusted it. Shows 9-10 when I get my shot correct. It seems to have a gradual draw-up pressure time. I've been wondering if I get a little preinfusion in that fashion, but not sure.

- Decent Steaming: While not a slam dunk, the thermo-block powered steamer seems easy enough to use for a beginner. One key tip is to do one quick purge to remove the water before steaming, but then it's good to go. I've been only steaming small (4 oz) milk drinks (my pref) and the single-hole nozzle heats it quickly and with control. When I tried the double-hole nozzle it was honestly way too fast and out of control for such a small amount of milk. Probably good for lattes.

- Decent Included Accessories: The included portafilter and have a nice weight and feel to them. They were considerably heavier than those included with a Profitec Go.

Cons:

- No Steam Control Knob: Steam is controlled via an on/off button and doesn't have the traditional knob to control it. I'm guessing this is a trade-off with a thermoblock, unless extra electronics are added. Needed? Maybe not but would improve the user experience.

- Advanced Shot Controls: While far beyond my beginner needs, I'd have happily paid an extra $100 for some kind of flow control and/or pre-infusion. I imagine it's possible to dimmer-mod the machine at least, but I'm not ready to drill a hole into that beautiful case yet. Also, I'd prefer to follow the lead of others in the community, which brings to ?

- Small User Community: The Mio is a Seattle Coffee Gear specific variant of Quick Mill Silvana Evo. There's few owners of this machine out there, and I think some early quality control issues made others hesitate. I did join a Silvana Evo Facebook group, but that's also pretty small. I also created a Mio specific Facebook group if anyone wants to join! Semi-related - SCG really needs to improve their online marketing. After months of research, I had no idea SCG had a Bay Area location. Buying the machine in person sealed the deal for me!

- Weak User Manual: The Mio has a practically non-existent user manual. The Profitec Go manual I saw was thorough on usage, cleaning schedule, and had a complete parts breakdown included. I found some of this looking at Silvana Evo manuals, but come on SCG - work on the manual!

pleased with Diletta
So far, it is performing well and makes better espresso than my previous machine. This is because with the elapsed time and pressure indicators, I can adjust the grind fineness to each batch of coffee beans. I have found that the moisture in my coffee beans can vary significantly even from top quality roasters.

Great Upgrade!
The Mio is an upgrade to my 10+ yr old Rancilio Silvia and I'm VERY happy so far! The Silvia still works flawlessly but is being relocated. The Mio will have a lot to live up to. The Mio is very capable and has features that I could not find in a comparably sized and priced machine. I'm getting great results after only a few adjustments to my grind size. It really is "as advertised" and I'm glad to have chosen this machine.
