About

Daughter of a music professor; trained classically in her home country of Russia, Regina's passion for music was clear from childhood.  Once she completed her studies she moved to the Bronx, New York and her life has never been the same. Influenced by her Russian and Jewish roots, as well her new love for the city Regina's songwriting took off. It was in the underground music scene of the East Village where she found fame. Still, her music is always evolving, channeling  influences like Chopin, Janis Joplin, to experimenting with unusual instruments and vocal styles, Regina never ceases to surprise.
After a number of self-funded and distributed albums, she finally got her first proper release in 2004 when Warner Brothers re-released her 2003 self-released album Soviet Kitsch. She released the highly anticipated follow-up album, Begin To Hope, in 2006. The single from the album, "Fidelity", was a big hit and helped the album peak at number 20 in the US Billboard chart. Her fifth full album, Titled Far, was a smash hit, it entered the US charts at number three and raised Regina's profile worldwide. In 2010 she performed at President Obama's reception at the White House. Her latest album, titled What We Saw from the Cheap Seats also entered the US album chart at number three.

Regina first toured nationally with The Strokes and this was quickly followed by a tour supporting The Kings of Leon, where she played in front of many famous venues at max capacity, like the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. A series of headline theater shows followed the release of the album Far and in recent years she has made frequent appearances during the European Summer Festival season. Away from music, Regina does a great deal of work for human rights charities and has raised money for Doctors Without Borders helping earthquake victims.

quirky, fun, and engaging--she sounded amazing! neat to be outside in central park (despite the rain): during 'summer in the city' :)

    Starry night magic.

by Avid Show Goers & Music Lover on 8/27/23

What a special person and ultra talented musician, song writer and singer Regina Spektor is. And I’ve now told other friends they must see her perform if they ever can. Acoustics and sound quality were terrific. Venue was such a nice intimate special size. Regina’s choice of dress was perfect. Even with (warmish) rain for a good bit of the first half could still enjoy the experience and it was really nice that Poppi was allowed to give out some free cans of of prebiotic soda for people to enjoy and try. I also think it was really smart and great of her to start right off the bat with a very popular song that almost everybody loves to sing. Last but least I hope all summer stage concerts are professionally filmed and recorded for future viewing, archives and any possible documentaries. they tend to be special concerts because the artists tend to feel extra honored to be performing and the audience appreciative of the opportunity and summer fun.

    Reggie is everything

    by Rat on 8/15/23

I love Regina, and was so stoked to see her. Ticket purchase and assessability were great and simple. The venue was great, super intimate. Parking was so easy. The people (for the most part) were so nice. The reason that I put 4 stars instead of 5 is because we paid for the fast lane, and people from the regular line were still going in before us (waste of money). And the floors were pretty gross after, but that's to be expected after a show

The venue was organized, comfortable and my seat was better than expected. Regina Spektor is such a stunning musician and charming person and I enjoyed every moment of the concert. I had such a wonderful time! Can't wait to see something else at the Greek in the future.

One woman show. Regina and a piano. Amazing!

    by Burgermeister on 8/14/23

When Regina took the stage and we realized that it was just her and a piano, my wife and I were a bit skeptical. Then we were blown away by her talent, her ability to bring songs to life and to engage the audience. Truly a unique and worthy experience. We would definitely see her again!

    Awesome show

    by zack on 8/13/23

Regina Spektor is just a delight. If it wasn't enough that she has one of the best voices in all of music, it turns out she is also one of the most genuine and sweet people as well. She made such a warm and inviting environment that in her own words was as if we were just hanging out with her. Regina is so talented and I was just blown away how great she sounds live. If you get the chance to see her, you should jump at it.
