KING GIZZARD AND THE LIZARD WIZARD IN CONCERT:

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard sounds like a transmission from garage rock’s past heard over the crackling transistors of a handheld radio. The lo-fi septet is certainly an unusual assembly -- three guitarists, two drummers, a bassist, and a harmonica player -- but they wouldn’t have it any other way. They wrap ticket buyers in an intoxicating haze with the can’t-help-but-sing-along hooks and fuzz-laden guitar riffs that abound on both straightforward singles like “Cellophane” and spacey epics like “Head On/Pill”. Fans looking for classic garage rock and psychedelia sounds played with youthful enthusiasm will eat up the bizarre sonic gumbo that King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard serve up whenever they go on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Melbourne, Australia garage rock septet King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard began in 2010 as the side project of an adventurous group of musicians. But Stu Mackenzie (vocals/guitar), Joe Walker (guitar), Cook Craig (guitar), Ambrose Kenny-Smith (harmonica/ vocals), Eric Moore (drums/theremin), Michael Cavanagh (drums), and Lucas Skinner (bass) soon found that they preferred the fruitful experimentation that resulted from that one-off jam to their regular gigs. The group debuted on wax with 12 Bar Bruise in 2012, followed by Eyes Like the Sky a scant five months later. The group has maintained this breakneck pace, though they always add fresh twists to their signature style. For example, their critically acclaimed 2015 album Quarters featured four psychedelic jams that were all exactly 10:10 long. Their fearless creativity has made them a popular live act, and their garage rock sing-alongs and psychedelic rave-ups have thrilled audiences around the world.

WOW! what a home run from the band, venue and staff

    by RyjKGLWfan on 7/21/23

WOW! This was amazing :) What a fantastic venue. There were a couple of hiccups with parking, driving into/out of the park, and such but not unexpected since it was the first time this venue has had a concert. As this was STG's first concert at Remlinger Farms, I was beyond happy with my experience. The STG staff was wonderful, kind and patient. KGLW hit it out of the park all 3 nights despite it raining every day. They are phenomenal band, I hope they come back to this place. Very happy with STG, and Reminlinger Farms :)

Most politely rowdy audience I've ever seen in my life. The band was obviously perfect. Soggy bottom boys

    Must see

by Jarvis on 6/22/23Carnation Farms - Carnation

No one compares to Gizzard. They’d genre spanning catalog has something for everyone. No gimmicks. Their energy and passion contagious. This show was pouring rain and a mess of mud. Day 3 of their WA residency. And before they came on it felt like they may not take the stage and wait out the storm but they didn’t. They took the stage despite the sufferable condition and brought such great energy that I wasn’t even thinking about my soaking wet cloths and utterly destroyed shoes full of mud. It was just real and exciting. That’s what a live outdoor show should be. I’m so glad I was there.

    KGLW @ Remlinger Farms

by Dooz on 6/22/23Carnation Farms - Carnation

This was the first concert at Remlinger Farms and they couldn't have picked a better band to play. The venue is really nice and KGLW didn't disappoint. We went the first night & it rained ALL night but they were so good we stayed for the whole concert! KGLW was a bucket list band and glad I got to check it off!

    King Gizz on the Farm!

by Alejandro on 6/21/23Carnation Farms - Carnation

First off, KGLW was fantastic and a three night residency here was better than I could've imagined. Loved the venue and appreciated the sound being great (although a little loud when off center), and views being really good from almost everywhere. The curfew was mostly the biggest con. It would've been nice to have one night possibly go a bit later, but the fact that almost no one seemed to know there was a curfew on the first night was rough. It became more the "norm" by the first night and the band seemed to accommodate it a bit better, but 9:30 felt really early. There could've been slightly more bathrooms as the lines became a little punitive at certain points in the night, and made you question how long you were going to miss out. Food and beer quality and prices were awesome, especially compared to Seattle venue prices, but we didn't discover the food area until the second night. We really appreciated the changes the staff made throughout the weekend to keep improving the experience!

Great shows, chill venue. Not enough porta potty's

by bennybopper on 6/21/23Remlinger Farms - Carnation

Gizz crushed it and the venue was beautiful and very chill. However, the bathroom line was borderline unacceptable. If Rimlicka does more shows, which i hope they do, they need to get the porta potty situation figured out (like 2-3x, plus some big urinal only portas for guys to keep the lines moving for the ladies).

    Amazing show despite the rain!

by JH on 6/21/23Carnation Farms - Carnation

It was pouring rain the whole day at Remlinger Farms, but the hosts were really kind and helpful. They handed out free rain ponchos and helped where they could. Food was tasty as well! King Gizzard was amazing as always! Five stars hands down

    Excellent

by TaytorsPrecious on 6/21/23Carnation Farms - Carnation

Please do this every year. This was a very special time and I would like to do it annually. Staff was nice and sound was great. Weather didn't get many people down, parking situation was a little chaotic but could have been worse. Clean up more poop beforehand next time. Besides that nothing but love.
