I used to do the k-cups because they were quick and less mess but always had to cut the bitterness with creamer. 
I finally got fed up with it and invested in a this Chemex. I’ve heard the BRCC guys talk about how pour over or French Press is just simply a better way to make coffee. Well, as always, they’re spot on. 
It’s worth the extra few minutes to brew your cofffee the right way. This size Chemex is perfect for just me when I’m heading to work or for me and the wife on the weekend when I don’t need as much coffee for myself.

I got this chemex wanting to try something different as far as brewing my coffee. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. This is about the only way I brew coffee anymore. It takes a bit longer than regular drip brewing or a K cup, but it is absolutely worth it.

Yes, it will take a little more time than Keurig or any electric coffee maker, but it is so worth it if you value a good cup of coffee. Pay attention to how to use it and buy the Chemex filters from BRCC as well. You will love this simple, elegant amazing piece of art.

Perfect size for two people. I promise coffee tastes SO much better (and less bitter) out of a Chemex. I love the Black Rifle design on this one. It also takes up so much less space then a regular coffee maker, and there's no pesky cleaning like with a coffee maker, its so simple to wash out.

Makes the Best Coffee Ever

the cleanest cup you will ever taste.... not close. I have a Bonavita drip, 2 French presses, and the large capacity Mr. Coffee.... These don't eve come close to the Chemex. I let one of my veteran coworkers share with me the first couple of cups I made and he is now a BRCC only coffee drinker. if you are on the fence, take the plunge. Make sure you have a nice kettle. Add the Hario scale with the timer and its perfect every time.

Best Cup NO Exaggeration

Phenomenal pour-over coffee with a nice aesthetic.

I work construction in Portland, and our shop is 300 ft away from a prestigious Portland coffee roaster. I have tried hundreds of expensive cups of coffee by working throughout the the city. Over time I noticed the French press was always more expensive. Next would come the drip coffee, then finally the standard coffee maker. 
I always thought that French press was superior to the others, but that is not the case. The Chemex drip system makes such a clean coffee that it is refreshing. It brings out the delicate notes that are usually hidden by the robust full flavors of a French press. Quite unique. 
All in all, I still like the French press for specific coffee flavors, but for now, any light - medium roast coffee’s are being brewed on this chemex.

I LOVE Chemex...the only drawback is their glass has become more fragile and easy to break...have to tuck mine away in the cupboard for protection now and they are not cheap, but well worth the expense!  I grind my own beans and this coffee maker is the American version of French-press
