I have gone through SO many straighteners and this one is by FAR the best! It heats up in seconds, it has a digital dial that it super easy to read and change the temp on, it’s ceramic plates are so smooth it doesn’t snag your hair, and because they are so thin you can get right up to the root. I have super thick curly hair, and with just one pass, I get sleek, shiny hair. I have hair down to past my chest and it literally takes me less than 10 mins to straighten it all. The glove it comes with is great, I just don’t use it daily. It’s super easy to pack for travel, fits anywhere and it super durable. Amazing value for the money! I loved it so much I bought one for my hair stylist to use on her clients!!!

This is IT!! First off, I have thick/frizzy colored hair. I have had my last flat iron (T3) for almost 20 years! It still works but it started pulling my hair and feeling a bit flimsy. Then I decided after all the reviews to try my new Hot Tools Pro Artist Black Gold Evolve Ionic Salon Hair Flat Iron...I absolutely love this one!! It is smooth, light, inexpensive (compared to some) and feels great to hold while doing my hair. My hair comes out smooth, shiny & frizz free (just the way I like it :) You can use it for curls also, which is AWESOME!! Thank you Hot Tools for this great product. I definitely recommend this Hot Tools as your new flat/curling iron.

I bought this because I wasn't totally happy with my previous flat iron - my hair would slip out sometimes and it didn't really control frizz. Even though I had just "styled" my hair with my old iron, I used the new one as soon as it arrived to test it out. Wow - what a difference! First off, it heats up very very quickly, clamps my hair perfectly, and I can style it straight or wavy without any frizz. Easy to use and professional looking results=a win for me.
The power button is on the inside of the blades (which made me nervous because the iron gets very hot), but it does come with a glove to use if necessary. I used the recommended setting for Normal hair and it was fine. It does stay hot for a while, so one has to be careful when laying it down, although there is a hook to hang it.
I don't usually use a flat iron for straightening because I get pretty good results blow drying my hair. I prefer a flat iron for waves (rather than a curling iron) and this one does a great job with its rounded edges. I also appreciated that it didn't seem to "fry" my hair. No frizz either. I recommend this flat iron.

I was considering ordering this on the hot tools website with the limited lifetime warranty, but for half the price I decided to get it on Amazon. Although I just got it and only used it once so far, I'm pleased. I can't believe how fast it heats up! I have not bought a new straightener in almost 10 years so I'm used to much older technology. I genuinely can't believe how fast this heated. It's nothing too fancy, has a range of heat settings and is comfortable to hold. I went from a 1.5" plate to this 1" plate but this works well, heats well, and for the price it can't be beat. Curls well, I'm just struggling to get it to hold the wave technique. I feel like with my thinner blonde hair and the level of heat it should hold more and make more dramatic dents in the hair, but overall it works great for the price.
