Best Anchovies you can get

I love Anchovies, I eat them as is and don't just cook with them. I've tried all types and brands and these are by far best Anchovies you can get. The flavor is more mild, and less fishy. I happen to like the fishy flavor to be honest I like but these also have the perfect texture, not too mushy but not too firm or waxy like some others I have tried. The salt is also on point and are the least salty I have had. The only downside is the price, these as far as flavor and texture are the best but are also by far the most expensive. I have ordered these several times and unfortunately the last order one of the 3 jars had leaked and are not edible and at $14 a jar is disappointing to say the least especially because you can't return them or get a refund. That being said I will definitely order more of these. Side note, be careful where you buy these from. There are several types from this brand and they all look similar, these are the higher quality anchovies.

I ordered these on the recommendation of food writer Charlotte Druckman. I love anchovies but I'd been living off the kind at my local grocery store until she sang the praises of these babies. At first I balked at the price- I can get them for a dollar locally, and they were $7 on Amazon. I got an alert that the price had gone down to $3 a jar, and so I made my move, ordering several. And OH. My. God. So good, so worth the prize. These are much meatier, with a stronger hit of umami and less of a salt taste, than the anchovies I'm used to. You could actually eat these straight out of the jar if you wanted. In fact, my preferred way to eat them is spread on a piece of toast with some butter. Really good. These anchovies don't need to be diced as finely or spread out with a tiny bit per bite- the flavor is good enough that you can eat a whole mouthful. Definitely worth it. I won't be buying any other anchovies after this.

Product pictured is "Achoas"....a high quality grade of anchovy. The product you will receive are standard "anchovy" fillets....and the bottle you will receive is clearly marked "Anchovy". Deceptive advertising plain and simple. I contacted the seller and customer service told me, and I quote : "Amazon does our fulfillment, you need to reach out to them if you have a problem". Basically flipped me off. Other reviewers had the exact same complaint as me. They did admit to the deception, and they are aware of it, yet they do not change the photo and take zero responsibility. Fly by night organization. So I'm out $14 bucks for a product that costs about $2.49. Fair warning.

I love putting these in my Dirty Martinis (don't knock it until you try it). I tried several different brands and these were my favorite.

They have a perfect umami flavor without being too salty or bitter. The texture is also very good. I tried other brands where the fillets were mushy and wouldn't stay intact. These are tender without being mushy.
The only thing I would change is maybe how they're packed, it can be a little difficult pulling out an entire fillet once refrigerated because the olive oil solidifies.
They've gone up in price by several dollars since I started buying them 6 months ago, but I'll continue buying them, they're my favorite.

Good brand but I didn’t get what is shown, there are three different labels with differences/prices. Not that its a huge deal, but I do expect to get what is advertised. Otherwise these are one of the best Anchovy choices In my opinion. And yes there are no fish in the center, they just are around the glass so you cant see that there is a void in the middle , just a FYI
