I wasn't necessarily impressed with the materials used in the manufacture of this machine and its accessories. All the above simply felt "cheap" to me as similar feeling gear in my past would inevitably fail or fall apart. After several months of active use of this vacuum cleaner it is now clear to me my suspicions were incorrect. Yes, everything is extraordinarily light weight (especially the brush head unit). But where I once thought that would have indicated a compromise in durability and performance, this is simply not the case (so far).
I'm especially pleased with the ease of removing debris from the catch basin once it fills up. It's extraordinarily easy enough to remove it from the main unit. It's light enough to lift it above a kitchen trash can. And the latch mechanism opening the basin container for the purpose of emptying it into a trash can functions well with minimal (if any) mess.
The suction and other controls of this machine are also highest quality in my humble opinion. And oh yeah, I'm also impressed with the lower-level noise this thing makes during operation in comparison to ALL other machines I've owned in the past.
As opposed to other larger machines that offer on-board storage of the various cleaning heads one my use (such as the brush head, etc.), this unit does not. Nonetheless, I consider this a plus in how the lack of on-board storage helps minimize the overall size and weight of the entire machine.
Yes, this brand charges a bit more than its competitors. However, I now completely understand why and consider the additional cost worthwhile. Of course, if it breaks down I'll certainly report.

Love Miele but disappointed
I was excited when I saw Miele released a compact bagless vacuum, I’ve had my old Miele for over a decade and it still works like a champ but I wanted the bagless convenience. The new model looks super cool but that’s it’s only advantage over my old one. It’s still very quiet like the old machine, the machine itself feels well built (not so much the hose and attachments).The hose on the new one is about 4 inches shorter and connects to the vacuum which makes it feel quite a bit shorter in use, and makes tugging around the canister feel very heavy despite the big wheels. The suction power is definitely weaker than my old one, and I think this is due to the fact that all the air has to pass through a tiny screen that sits in the bottom of the dirt cup (see pic) and quickly gets clogged up. I also don’t like that there is no connection point on the main unit for the attachments, only on the hose which makes it feel even more awkward. Lastly, the unit blows exhaust air out of the front rather than on top like my old one, and because of the short hose it ends up blowing hot air at my ankles the whole time I am vacuuming.To wrap up my rant, I’ll just add that while I appreciate the real attachments unlike the dinky pieces on the other Miele bagless model, it comes which a cheap dusting brush and an all-plastic floor tool (the old one had a metal base). I wish this most expensive model came with a deluxe handle grip, better floor tool, and maybe even digital controls- all of which my 10 year old Miele has.In summary, if you want a Miele get a good old bagged model instead. If you want a bagless vacuum, I think my Dyson V10 has better performance and is even cordless, you just lose the flexibility of a canister vacuum.I hope Miele does better in the future!
