Prunted Beaker III
$120.00
Historical reproduction of a 16th-century German Krautstrunk beaker. The German word krautstrunk, meaning cabbage stalk, suggests the glassware’s likeness to the staple brassica crop. The Krautstrunk beaker is a type of Waldglas or “forest glass”; its name denotes the Northern European woods where these vessels were traditionally made, whose iron-oxide-rich soil and beech trees gave the glassware its natural verdant hue.
This oval beaker features soft-pointed prunts arranged in a quincunx pattern and a curved neck.
