Nailed it!
**Update** It's been almost a month since my original review. I haven't had the chance to fill or re-do my nails. In the meantime, they haven't lifted, cracked, chipped, or peeled off. They survived dishes, cleaning, kids, and even power tools. I'm in looooove!! Also, I was not paid for my positive review, as someone said this company was doing that. That was not my experience. The wife says: This review is long, I'm sorry. It's worth it, though. I have horribly weak nails, I've tried taking hair/nail vitamins, and even "strengthening" polishes. Nothing has helped, and going to get my nails done is pretty out of the question right now. I tried to do acrylic myself years ago, and it was SO AWFUL. I had dips done a year ago, and they made it look so easy... but acrylics also look pretty easy, and it's a whole lie. A lady in one of my FB groups absolutely swore by dips and how simple it was, so here we are. My first attempt was seemed to go well at first, it wasn't until after the top coat that something wasn't right. My nails had a bumpy texture, and almost looked like there was air bubbles. The top coat wasn't shiny, even with a 3rd coat it was really dull in spots. I figured it was something I messed up, so I watched some dip videos on YT. Here's what I learned: • LESS IS MORE!! Apply a THIN layer of base, especially at the cuticle. Everywhere that base goes, the powder is going to adhere to it; the thicker the base is applied, the more powder is going to stick, so the longer it will take to dry, and even harder to file down. I think this was my biggest mistake. • Get a dip tray (ordered mine from Amazon). These jars are a little small (it's a starter kit, so that's expected). I didn't do my nails super long, but if I had made them longer, I can see where this would be a problem. Regardless of length just having the trays made it easier. • When applying the base to artificial nail tips, the FIRST application should be at the seam where your natural nail meets the tip. After that initial application, the base and powder are applied to the whole nail. • After you apply base and dip your finger, wait until the dip is dry before brushing the excess powder off. The directions say "air dry for 30 seconds" at the bottom of step 3 and 5, it should actually say that BEFORE it tells you to brush the powder off. • If you're using the glitter powder, it doesn't hurt to apply a clear dip layer; that way, when you go to file/buff/smooth, you're not sanding the glitter off. • Get a black 3-way grit file block. The file this kit comes with is good for sanding the thickness down and making it even, but not for smoothing. I got mine for a dollar at the Mart-of-Wals. So, now: My second time went SOOOO much better! I still have white dots (or flecks?) in the clear part. I don't know what causes that, but I feel like when I had my french dip professionally done last year (they used white and pink dip, I just did white tips and clear dip), they had flecks too. Honestly, unless my nail is right in front of your eyeballs, you don't notice it. I've included a million photos, so you can see. Please excuse my cuticles, they're pretty upset with me. That was a lot of action. I'm ecstatic about this kit! My nails look really good, especially for someone who is a total noob at this. I can't testify about how long they last, this second set hasn't been on a full day yet... but they've lasted longer than the acrylic I tried, so there's that. I highly recommend this kit!

This is my first experience with dip powder. I've done my nails twice with this kit, the first time I wore it a week and removed it for another color. It could have stayed another week, but due to poor application (I am learning!) it was starting to lift around some edges. Proper application, and practice, will prevent that I think. The rest of the items in the kit (spare brushes, files, "dusting" brush or whatever it is) all seem good quality and I've used just about everything and have no complaints.

The colors are fantastic! Something for everyone here: tasteful nude, a soft purple-ish, a medium gray. A sparkly black I am dying to try but haven't the courage to yet. I tested them all on false nails and the colors are highly pigmented! The white is chalk white, the black is true black. The clear seems actually clear; I layered it over a glitter color to protect the sparkles and after filing and top coat, it is not noticeable (no tiny bubbles or foggy appearance that I've read can happen with clear powder).

I recommend watching youtube videos if you're like me and don't quite know what you're doing. There are tons out there on how to apply dip powders to get great results. Most videos follow 3 basic rules, I've noticed: DON'T get it on your skin, first application should only cover the bottom half (away from cuticle), and file the crap out of it to get a lovely shape (focus on the cuticle edges and tip to avoid super chonk nails). Following these basic rules I've seen better results on my second application than I did on my first (before I watched videos).

Removal took about 3-5 min per hand which seems about right. Bowl full of hot water, and acetone-soaked paper towel in a baggie, in the water. Worked much faster than the foil or nail clip methods I've tried on gel polish to "soak off".

5/5 recommend. I will be returning for more colors as I get better and braver.

I will start by saying I have never, not once, EVER done dip myself. I got them "professionally done one time and after the $60 total ....I knew I would never pay to have them done again. I wanted to try it myself and save the $$$. I consider myself a pretty crafty and observant person, so watching the process on a video and reading the (honestly poorly written instructions) seemed pretty simple. Everything is labeled and it comes with everything you'd need. Filing/shaping your nails is the longest of the process. The instructions are adamant that you work quickly to dip your fingers in the powder so I only worked on 2 fingers at a time as to not chance ruining anything. The final top coat does take longer than it says to dry/cure, so I reccomend not touching anything for a good 15 minuyes to be safe. I like how my nails turned out for a first timer and I've gotten several compliments on them and happy to say I did them myself, but also feel like every time I do them I will get even better. Also, I was very ambitious using 4 different dip powders to achieve the look I wanted, so I'm confident that any adult could get one color on with very little practice. The only thing I wish they would include is the number to color chart. The powders are numbered and honestly look very similar to eachother so I'm not sure what color it is until it's been activated 😕, but still not a deal breaker for me!!!! Oh also, this photo was taken 10 days after I did them....strong and long lasting!!

My nails are always brittle and broken so, I got this kit to help grow out my natural nail to a reasonable length without having to go the nail salon and spending a fortune. 2020 is rough and a girl just wants her nails to have a good time.

I have used other dipping systems in the past and loved the longevity. These instructions are easy to follow and my nails came out pretty good. However, I did end up watching a few how-to videos. I decided to use an extra coat of activator after I buffered them to my preferred shape to ensure everything was still locked and hardened.

The top coat is..okay. Definitely make sure you apply two coats as instructed. It holds up well, but I would prefer it to be a bit more glossy than it is. Later down the line, I will probably purchase a different top coat. The smell is there, guys. The base and activator coats can make you tear from the smell. It's not unbearable but I would definitely try to keep your hands/bottles at a distance while applying.

Overall, I have enjoyed the wear on these. I work alot with my hands and none have lifted or cracked so far. I do recommend this to anyone wanting to try dipped nails. Not perfect but this got the job done at an affordable price.

Boy was I excited to find a nail dip kit to try out on amazon. I ordered this kit based on the reviews left by others. The instructions are very easy to follow and the process is simple, quick and done. The durability is a huge disappointment for me. The nails seem to hold up for two days until I went to the gym on day three. I had four nails that the dipped cracked on. Definitely shouldn’t have happen so I removed them and did them again. Only to have the same issue happen again. I’m not rough on my nails and having them dipped in a salon lasted weeks on end for me in the past. They are not a strong enough product. I’m able to pick away at the layer and didn’t even have to soak in order to remove the dip. My nails are not left damaged by doing this. Another thing I Noticed is there is no color guide to the powder. I had to
