- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2025Style: 75 PieceVerified PurchaseI purchased this for my nephews, and it has been a massive hit! From the moment they opened the box, they were completely captivated by the endless possibilities for building and creating.
The magnets are strong and sturdy, making it easy for little hands to assemble and disassemble the pieces without frustration. I love how this set encourages creativity and problem-solving while also teaching basic STEM concepts in such a fun and engaging way. My nephews have built everything from simple shapes to complex structures, and their excitement never fades!
As a bonus, the included guidebook provides great inspiration for new designs, but the kids love to freestyle their own creations too. It’s a perfect blend of fun and education, and I feel great knowing it’s helping them develop important skills like spatial awareness and teamwork.
The quality is fantastic—durable, safe, and well-made. It’s also compact enough to store easily, and the storage bag is a thoughtful addition for keeping everything organized.
I would highly recommend this to any parent, teacher, or caregiver looking for a creative, hands-on activity for kids. Whether for playtime, homeschooling, or just some screen-free entertainment, this set is worth every penny!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2024Style: 150 PieceVerified PurchaseOf all the gifts my 7 year old grandson received for Christmas, this was the biggest hit! There is just so much fun and opportunity for creativity with this marble run building set! The design options are literally infinite and the process is both fun and it does take some time to get the design to function like you want.
As you can see from the attached picture, we put up two metal white boards on the wall behind a door to one of our guest rooms. The paper template you see at the top was just to help him model his first design to get a feel for things. So it's cool that he can begin to work on a design and even if he isn't able to complete it, it's perfectly in place for when he comes back the next time. And it's out of sight and out of mind until he returns! I ended up purchasing two of these, one for his use at his home and one for use and my home. I guess we'll see, but I expect this will be a "game" he'll not lose interest in for several years! I highly recommend!

I would not recommend this for a Christmas morning present because there is an insane amount of pieces and it takes time and focus to build something that works. That being said, it is a fun toy that adults and children can enjoy together. The video shows our first attempt at a small run.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2025Style: 150 PieceVerified PurchaseGreat set and adds more flair than your common floor based marble run. You can run it on anything that a magnet can stick to and doing it on the wall, car, or fridge is just a grand new adventure. Auto elevator enables you to be able to just watch and enjoy your creations.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2024Style: 150 PieceVerified PurchaseAll parents currently looking - I am not saying don't buy this product. But this is a frustrated dad talking to National Geographic. I appreciate the concept of the National Geographic Magnet Marble Run but am disappointed with its execution. As a frustrated dad, my main issue is with the weak magnets, which frequently disrupt the flow of play, requiring constant maintenance instead of enjoying the creation. To stabilize the structure, I had to purchase additional, stronger neodymium magnets. Another drawback is the insufficient number of basic connectors provided, limiting the assembly options. The catapult, while a great idea, lacks an auto-load feature, making it tedious to operate. Also, the weak magnets cause the structure to shift easily with slight pressure, necessitating frequent recalibration or omitting the catapult altogether. The switch design is poorly implemented and the spinners, intended as decorative elements, are ineffective due to the same magnet issue, becoming misaligned after minimal use. This is particularly disappointing because, among the many toys my kids have, this is one I also enjoy, and it could have been a memorable experience for us. However, the fragility of the track and constant need for adjustments lead to frustration and eventually, we move on to something else.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2025Style: 75 PieceVerified PurchaseI bought this for my nephew, who turned 11. I wasn’t sure what he was into anymore and that age is so awkward 😐 Most kids are into video games and social media at a young age, but he loved it! So did his 13 year old sister. Kept him occupied for days! Highly recommend.
Magnets seem to work great and there’s enough pieces to design intricate ramps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and educational
Style: 75 PieceVerified PurchaseEducational and doesn't take up space on the floor. Comes with a travel bag so you can easily take it to someone else's house. Pieces are sturdy and the magnets stick well. Instructions were easy to follow and encourage trial and error to get the pieces exactly in the right place or to make your own design.
