About the Author

Carey Jones is the co-author of Every Cocktail Has A Twist and Be Your Own Bartender. With a fifteen-year career in food and drink writing, she also authored Brooklyn Bartender and served as the managing editor of Serious Eats. 
John McCarthy is a career bartender and mixologist who has been collaborating on spirits writing with Carey Jones since 2013, in their Food & Wine column "Liquor Cabinet Roulette," their 2018 book Be Your Own Bartender, and Every Cocktail Has A Twist. They live in Sonoma County, California.

I have several cocktail books but this is my favorite by far. Such a great concept! The authors deliver recipes for 25 classic cocktails (margaritas, daiquiris, gimlets, whiskey sours…) but then they offer a dozen or so “twists” on each one. Brilliant! It’s exactly what creative bartenders are doing. My favorite so far is the Arugula Gimlet, which is refreshing and shockingly green. Don’t think twice, this is the only bar book you need to impress your friends.
