Love the relaxed fit and weight of this piece. Only reason it is not getting 5 stars - it doesn't have pit zips, which I didn't realize before purchasing. Regardless, I love my new jacket, especially after trying to decide what to purchase for almost 2 years! After trying on this jacket, along with the AR and SL models, this fit and weight were the right choice for me and my multi-sport/multi-season activity needs. Colour is vibrant, but still versatile. Thank you!

Great All Round Jacket!

I was looking for a replacement jacket for the beloved Zeta that didn't really fit anymore and landed on the Beta Jacket, tbh mostly for the gorgeous Moonstone colour. I wanted an all-purpose jacket I could wear hiking, biking, walking that would keep me dry and allow me to layer as I please (this is strictly a shell jacket with no insulation). I bought this jacket in a size large but honestly could have gotten away with a medium as it is quite relaxed and also very long. It kept me dry and protected on our latest backcountry trip. It also packs down really small to chuck in your bag in case of emergencies, but with more heft than the Beta SL for example. I do miss the pit zips like my Zeta Jacket had, to dump heat if I wore this on a strenuous hike or bike ride in the rain, but the colour won me over and no regrets.

Extremely lightweight but so stiff and noisy! Sounds like a bag of chips. You don’t get a lot for the money. Also arrived incredibly creased and I have no idea how to remove them, so I’ll have to send it back.

Another great jacket!

I love everything about this jacket, especially the colour which is what drew me to it! It's light and small enough to pack into my hiking daypack, but still feels durable and keeps me dry in heavy rain. Its very comfortable, meaning its now my go to jacket to wear whether I'm hiking or just commuting to work. The cinch waist allows me to add more shape to the jacket and keep any cold air out. One thing to note, I have a previous season Beta Jacket, and the fit feels different. This model feels a little longer and a thicker outer fabric, which personally I prefer!

Versatile Year-round shell jacket

Have been using my new ePE version of the Beta Jacket for a while now, and it has proven to be superb in the rain, especially living in the PNWt. The wind resistance is excellent, making it a reliable year-round daily shell. I appreciate the relaxed fit; although I'm slim, I wear a medium to allow for layering during the colder seasons. It pairs perfectly with an Atom or Proton. Highly recommend this jacket for anyone needing a versatile and dependable outer layer!

Runs small, but the best jacket

I have been lucky enough to have multiple styles of Arc'teryx rain jackets (among other products). These rain jackets are the best out there in terms of water repellency. The Beta is breathable and good for varying weather conditions. It is light weight and highly packable. Size wise I will say that their jackets run quite small. I am typically a size 8 or 10 across the board, athletic build, 34DD, and 5'4". I purchased an XL in this jacket to make sure I could fit layers underneath. A photo is attached. I have the Beta AR in a size medium and it is snug across my hips - I can only fit a thin layer underneath. Very excited to have the larger size in the Beta to have options of what to wear underneath. It is a great jacket, but I would like to see them develop more inclusive sizing.

The Beta’s versatility frees you to experience the full range of adventures.
