Product Description
What is Matcha?
Matcha is a type of Japanese green tea that is made by grinding shade-cultivated tea leaves into a fine powder. When making matcha, we add this powder to a bowl or mug, add water, whisk, and enjoy. This is a unique tea, since you consume the entire tea leaf when you drink it.

Suggestions:
- When preparing your matcha, sift the dry powder right before adding water. Sifted matcha is easier to whisk fully in a short time.
- Whisk for seconds, not minutes. Whisking for very long can produce a bitter taste.
- Nothing beats the chasen. The classic bamboo whisk (chasen) made for whisking matcha has many fine tips. This allows you to whisk up fragrant and well-mixed matcha drinks.
- Sip and relax. Matcha tea is essentially tiny tea leaves mixed with water, so enjoy it before the leaves separate from the water.
- Find your favorite taste: Experiment when making matcha by trying different ratios of water to matcha and water temperatures.
- Temperature and flavor: Scalding hot water produces fragrance and sharpness. Cold water produces a misty, rich character with low foam. Comfortably hot water makes a balanced character.
- Make it a latte: Add your favorite milk to matcha whisked with water. Adjust the ratios and experiment to find your favorite taste.

I compared it to a Costco brand I had and the Costco brand was more brown, less quality, more bitter and a bigger grassy taste. I couldn't believe the difference. I will still drink the Costco brand for finance reasons but when I want something extra luxurious I'll dip into my ceremonial grade matcha
My only small complaint is powder is very prone to stubborn clumping, and I usually end up with a few at the bottom of my cup.
This probably won't be my go-to daily matcha as I don't feel the price was justified by the taste, but I definitely enjoyed every cup!
