Give your food scraps new life with help from our compost bin. The backstory: We found out 83% of our community who don’t compost would like to start. So we set out to create a bin that would make taking the next step toward sustainability easy. Over 350 comments from our community helped us design a bin that’s got their wish list covered: It keeps odors masked, sits pretty on the countertop, and holds days (and we mean days) of scraps. And in the spirit of slashing your trash, when your bin reaches the end of its life, it’s 100% recyclable. But first, come on, get scrappy and turn that garbage into gold—adding compost to the soil will help leafy-green gardens thrive, not to mention make you feel super stinkin’ good about making a difference. Check out our composting guide for tips and tricks that’ll help you hit the ground running.

Easy on the eyes: You said you’d dig a bin that doesn’t look like it’s doing dirty work, so we built ours with a clean design that’ll look good on your countertop. Keeping it in plain sight makes tossing those scraps even easier.

Sized just right: We heard you. Some bins aren’t large enough to keep up with days and days of scraps, so we designed ours a tad bigger than most we’ve found. Go ahead, eat your greens, and empty it when you please. Its 1.5-gallon size will have no problem keeping up with your avocado peels and orange rinds.

Cleans up like that: Leaky bags were a pet peeve in our community, so our bin skips them entirely. No need for any extras at all—you can skip the filters, too. The lid is designed to mask odors so the only thing you’ll smell in the kitchen is the scent of bread baking. When your bin wants a scrub, its smooth interior means food won’t get stuck, and the body and handle can go right in the dishwasher. Give the lid a little TLC though, and hand wash it.

And chills out, too: Pro tip: If you’ve got a few days to go before you visit your local composting site, you can store this bin in the freezer, to pause the process and squash any smells.
