Loved It Then Hated It
For once in my life I decided to read the manual before using a new product. I was surprised to learn All-Clad recommended against the use of non-stick cooking spray. Prior to first use they recommended warm, soapy wash and dry followed by the wiping in of a small amount of cooking oil - almost like you are seasoning it. I've now gotten into the habit of repeating the oil rub in (< 1/2 tsp canola oil) prior to each use. Heating is very even and cleanup is a breeze. I use it every day for scrambled eggs, sauteed veggies, seared meats, etc. I've had it a month and it still looks brand new. Now after six months comes the hate part. I continued to follow instructions in the manual. A metal utensil has never touched this griddle and temps never exceeded medium. The non stick surface has started to peel in one area. I contacted All-Clad and they quickly dismissed my claim stating it was my fault and not theirs. I contacted them again stating my disappointment at their failure to stand behind their product. Their response ? "Sorry you feel that way". No more All-Clad for me.
