History Of Vintage Turkish Rug
Till 1980’s you could see a rug loom in almost all houses in Turkey villages young girls weaved rugs for their dowries and many others also weaved rugs for supporting their family incomes. They reflected their feelings on the rugs and kilims and that way the type of patterns and colors became very meanful in time. And I can even say that every Turkish rugs and kilims are one of a kind with they are carrying soul of the artist who made it. There is so many alternatives for your home decor you can choose from my almost unlimited collection of vintage turkish rugs.
I take all the listing photos under daylight so that they show its color correctly. When you place the rug in your home its colors may look darker according to the light amount it takes.

You can vacuum clean all my rugs for daily cleaning and you can also wash the rugs with baby shampoo or carpet shampoo by hand.But please don’t wash them in washing machine.

Please lay your rug flat and wet it and spread the soap or baby shampoo lightly over the top.you can also sprinkle a bit of white vinegar over the surface to add shine and strength to the fibers. Brush the rug vertically and horizontally both with and against the grain. Use the back of the brush like a squeegee to force soap excess water from the rug. Rinse the rug while its laying flat.if you can still smell the vinegar it is not thoroughly rinsed. Wait until most of the water has evaporated before you hang the rug or put on the floor for drying.never hang a rug if water is dripping from it.this will cause your piece to become deformed , not unlike a dripping wet sweater that is hung out to dry.
