Excellent Wi-Fi coverage for big house!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very reliable coverage and fast speed. The setup was so easy. And if you have other Google smart home devices, you can your network in the same Google app. I don’t think I want to go back to a regular Wi-Fi router after using a mesh network.

Aesthetically Pleasing / High Performance Router!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google Nest WIFI AC2200 Router was super easy to set up with the Google Home app. The Google Home app walks you through the installation process with ease. I did have an issue with it connecting to my WIFI smart outlets that run on 2.4GHz. I called up Google and they provided me a workaround to get them set up. (it will require a secondary phone with hotspot capabilities). I am paying for 200 Mbps internet and when I perform the speed test I hit 207 Mbps on Ookla's speedtest. On top of the performance and ease of setup, I put this router ontop of our floating TV console in our living room and it is aesthetically pleasing to look at. My GF did not like our old router with the antennas sticking out. 1. Setup a secondary phone hotspot with the same SSID and password as you configured for your Google Nest WIFI Router 2. Turn on secondary phone hotspot 3. Connect your Phone to the secondary hotspot a. Ensure that you see the blue banner on secondary phone b. Ensure that you see the hotspot symbol on your phone 4. Using the specific WIFI smart app, enter in the same SSID and password as in step 1 5. Once you walk through the steps on the smart app and it successfully connects 6. You can now turn off the hotspot and rename the secondary phone back to its original name 7. On your phone now you can connect back to the Google Nest WIFI 8. Verify controls to WIFI outlets while on the Google Nest WIFI This is to trick your WIFI outlets to thinking its connecting to a 2.4GHz router, this is because the Google Nest WIFI router does not have dedicated WIFI SSID's for 2.4GHz and 5Ghz. (Both channels are rolled up into one SSID) I hope this help others!

Superior router
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router can handle blazing fast speed. I have Fios 1 GB connection, which with old Google wifi hub could only support upto 500 mbps. But this newer model can carry upto 900 mbps. The range is also much powerful than previous version. As I was moving from old google wifi to this new model, I had to recreate my network and reconnect all my devices. I also had to factory reset my old google wifi hubs to connect them to this router as wifi point. Its an hour worth of effort, but very rewarding. This router only works with google home app, but you can still see the network information in google wifi app.

Great workaround for hotspot users.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed something to plug out Verizon mifi (hotspot) into so we could connect more than 15 devices (smart lights and Alexa devices add up quick). I saw this thing and it was on a decent sale and had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. So far so good, connection was easy, just plug in and download the google home app which I already had from owning a few google products already(nest hub, thermostat etc). Then connect my Verizon hotspot using the Ethernet plug and bam, Wi-Fi available. It’s a nice little trick to get around the limitations of a hotspot if you live in rural America like we do. Hope this helps!

Great router and works well as additional access p
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router to wirelessly connect with Google Nest router connected to my modem. I wanted a hard wire connection to my work laptop in my office to give it the fastest connection. Prior to purchase my laptop connected to web wirelessly with Google Nest wireless point in my office. The connections speed was not awful, but I suspected it would be faster connected to be wired to Google Nest router. I was right, my speed doubled and ping dropped as well, anywhere from 8-15 Ms depending on the time of day. Set up is easy. You connect the 2nd router just like if u set up a wireless point. After it is set up I connected my Cat8 cable (5 ft) to my laptop. The initial set up of router took about 10 minutes, then another 5 to 10 minutes for the Ethernet connection to my laptop to to work at its full potential. Overall , I am happy with purchase and set up. I know there a couple other options out there with a little more flexibility or maybe slightly cheaper, but the low profile of the Google Nest appealed to me and my family.

Better coverage
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 2000 sq feet apartment and this product covers every single corner of it. It has more coverage than the previous version. I think the design is less appealing than Google Wifi because of the Marshmallow look my sister almost ate it. Overall, it does a better job than than Google Wifi.

Q: QuestionAm I able to connect a Google WiFi Router with a Nest WiFi Router? Thank you.
Asked by GoogleKool.
- A:Answer I have the same question and the answer should be YES. On the Nest Wifi product page, it does say that the Nest Wifi is "compatible" with Google Wifi. That could just mean though that only the Nest Wifi Points are compatible with the Google Wifi Router. I am hoping that I can use my existing Google Wifi router as an extender and replace it with the Nest Wifi router since it has a more powerful antenna.

Q: QuestionI already have the Google Wifi sets (5 points). Can I buy one of these new routers and use it with my current set-up increasing the speed & coverage?
Asked by outinstyle.
- A:Answer Yes I have 4 nest wifi points and 3 google wifi points and it works although the google home software sucks is buggy and no where near as good as google wifi app. Meshdownload performance is better in mixed network than with Google wifi points alone.

Q: QuestionDo you have to pay a monthly fee for this service ?
Asked by Dj.
- A:Answer You have to buy the internet plan. If you already have the existing internet service, then no.

Q: QuestionI have my router in our basement. We installed the Ring. I cannot get enough internet to go outside. We have no problem with WiFi throughout our house. What do you recommend?
Asked by Patty.
- A:Answer About the basement it's not the most ideal place for a router and my nest has very poor performance more than 6 inches away from the device. My old Netgear nighthawk I could connect to my Wi-Fi a block away from my house.

Q: QuestionDoes this router have an Ethernet connection besides the one connected to the modem?
Asked by Kaitlyn14.
- A:Answer Yes - there are two ports on the Nest Router - a WAN port for the modem to connect to, and a LAN port for hardwiring a device. Hardwiring more than one device will require a network switch, but those are relatively cheap (I have a 5 port switch connected to the LAN port for all of my home theater electronics) One thing to note, if you purchase a second router to use in place of an access point, both the WAN and LAN ports on it will function as LAN ports. Good to have if you need to connect up devices that are far away from the modem (ex. My Wife’s desktop does not have WiFi built in, so we set up the second router at her desk and ran the hardwire from the router to the PC - works great)

Q: QuestionIs there an ethernet backhaul with the Google Nest router?
Asked by Google123.
- A:Answer Yes, like the original Google WiFi, the Google Nest Router supports an Ethernet back-haul as long as you have two (or more) Nest Routers and not the Nest WiFi Points (which are wireless only).

Q: QuestionI use AT&T Fiber internet. It has a modem/router that came with it. Would I get any boost by connecting this to the modem/router that I already have? And if not, what would be a good modem to get, to replace the modem part of what I have? Thanks!
Asked by Goatrock.
- A:Answer Yes, Nest Wifi can work with your AT&T modem/router combo. We recommend putting your combo in Bridge mode to avoid a Double NAT as it may cause connection issues due to the creation of 2 private networks. You can check out this support article for more information on Bridge mode and Double NAT: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6240987

Q: QuestionCan this router be used as a travel router and is it a repeater?
Asked by Di.
- A:Answer Yes it can be use as a travel router, but I wouldn’t recommend it. As a repeater, not so great. I bought two and was trying to do a hard wire repeater instead of wireless, Even with the second router connected to Ethernet it constantly reverted to add the second router as a mesh network, you will loose a lot of speed depending on what you’re paying.
