I was trying to brew a similar espresso to what I get at home using a Breville Express Pro and Vario-W Grinder. I always read very good reviews of Flair Espresso Machines by James Hoffmann, Hoon’s Coffee and decided to give it a try.
I was a little skeptical at first, because I had already tried using Gaggia and Delonghi fully automated coffee machines at the office and the espresso quality was subpar with what I have at home. Even using the more expensive models.
Boy, I'm glad I bought the Flair. Since the first extraction, I was able to brew a good espresso!!! As I became more familiarized with the workflow, the espresso only got better (learning curve was 3 shots!!!!!!). I brought the Flair to the office and my friends were in love with it.
I chose the Flair Pro2 model and I’m glad I did. I read good reviews for the Classic and the Signature, but the sturdier materials, flexibility and larger yield of the Pro 2 is worth every cent.
The build quality of the machine the accessories and the case are works of art. Extremely well built and full of little details that show the respect and attention that they have for the customers. Similar to what Apple used to do in the glory days.
It was expensive when I bought it at $275, and even more so now that it jumped by $50 to $325!
It's super time consuming, and you'd benefit from having a second brew chamber. That's mostly where it ends tho.
The build quality is excellent. All machined Aluminum and stainless steel. It's a little wobbly tho. Not because of the quality itself, but because of the stability. That could easily be addressed by the manufacturer, or maybe a third party developer.
It makes a STELLAR shot of REAL Espresso. Not that half hearted stuff like the Aeropress, or the Nespresso, for which I still both like. It's because of those two machines that inspired me to go legit.
The process of using an analog machine challenges you to be artistic, and to master the process and art of Espresso. Serving someone a cup of Coffee that you had absolute control over, is gratifying.
This thing is a blast, the build quality is to be admired, and the espresso itself is outstanding. If you're an artist, a fan of the hands on approach, and want an authentic shot.. This is one of only a few good choices.
Yes, buy it.
The ergonomics of the handle is not ideal for me. I'm 6'2" and working at a 36" counter. It may work better for me on a 30" tall surface.
This device is well worth the money and makes delicious espresso. It is fun to use as well. The weakest link is the cast aluminum and more particularly the connecting pieces, but paying attention to how much force is applied and taking care to apply force in the right direction will keep this machine making espresso for many years.
The taste of the espresso depends on your measurements. I’m not super particular—I just want a quick warm cup so I can keep writing for work. But the build of this model allows users to experience with ratios.
If you intend for this to be used in one place, I highly recommend using the screws provided to make the platform more stable. It is built to be travel-friendly, but if you’re just going to use it in the office or at home, you can affix the two main pieces together for more stability.

The shape is also cool.
the price is expensive but worth it, if you are thinking to purchase this!
