Experience the most immersive space exploration experience ever with the UniStellar eVscope 2! This amazing, all-in-one smart telescope brings ingenuity, cutting edge electronics and optical quality together so that you can live-stream a galaxy, nebulae or star cluster through an electronic eyepiece or to your smartphone or tablet! The database includes over 5,000 celestial objects, each of which reveal themselves in COLOR in as little as one minute!

The eVscope 2 digital telescope is a 4.5" reflector that uses the 7.7 megapixel Sony Exmor IMX347 sensor to digitize the light of distant celestial objects and present them to you in color. UniStellar's patented Enhanced Vision image processing technology stacks multiple images together, revealing more details as the stack grows. Watch as the arms of a galaxy come into view and fainter stars appear to bring the spiral structure to life. As more light is collected, colors will begin to emerge...something that is impossible to achieve with traditional backyard telescopes. Another feature of the UniStellar eVscope 2 is it's Smart Light Pollution Reduction, allowing you to observe from locations affected by light pollution. If the eVscope 2 can perform well in cities, just think what it can do in dark skies!

More About eVscope 2 Technology

Enhanced Vision Technology

As we know, telescopes gather the light emitted from far-off objects and send it through the eyepiece to our eye, where we see a live, un-enhanced image of the object. What makes astrophotography so exciting for the amateur astronomer is the ability that a digital sensor has to collect & store the light emitted from a telescope over a period of time. Specialized software can then be used to "develop" the image and even "stack" multiple images so we can see more detail than we would looking at one image alone.

This is a simplistic explanation of the Enhanced Vision technology incorporated into the amazing UniStellar eVscope 2! It allows for a live accumulation of light received from the eVscope to be projected to the incorporated Nikon Micro OLED eyepiece so that a user can experience the faint details (and in some instances, even color) of galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and more that normally could only be experienced in photographs. Keep in mind that while you can view the Moon and brighter planets through the eVscope, like Jupiter and Saturn, you will not be able to enhance them like you can galaxies and nebulae. They are already bright without enhancement, and doing so will not improve the view.

Once you have an object in the eyepiece and have hit the enhanced button in the free UniStellar app (more on that later), the Sony Exmor IMX347 sensor in the integrated camera starts doing it's thing, and it will only take a few seconds to begin to see more detail! You can continue to enhance the view over time to see details that are normally invisible, even though conventional telescopes of much larger apertures. When you are ready to move onto the next object, save your image if you wish and share it with friends. A saved image will be stored in the eVscope app and copied onto the picture gallery of your smartphone. From there it is easy to save the image to your computer, share it on social media or show off to your friends!

Autonomous Field Detection

The UniStellar eVscope 2 automated tracking and pointing system, called Autonomous Field Detection, is extremely accurate, and can do a fully automated alignment procedure in 10 seconds! The AFD system does "plate solving" by comparing what the integrated camera sees in its field of view with a database that has the coordinates of millions of stars. This system is very easy to use and will even tell you information about the object you are observing. You will be amazed at how accurate the eVscope Autonomous Field Detection is, and a bonus of this level of accuracy is getting to spend more time looking AT celestial objects instead of FOR them!

Unlock "Deep Dark Technology" with the Unistellar App!

As the Unistellar app continues to improve and evolve, keeping it up-to-date can unlock additional features to get the most from your Unistellar smart telescope. With version 2.4 and above, Unistellar has released its "Deep Dark Technology", a radical software advancement to filter light pollution and noise. This technology automatically filters out the interference from city lights that would otherwise obscure the light signal from distant celestial objects!

Citizen Science!

The power of Enhanced Vision and the accuracy of Autonomous Field Detection also make the eVscope a valuable tool to scientists. Connect your eVscope to a network of thousands of eVscope owners around the world and help scientists gather information about exoplanet transits or a Near Earth Asteroids (NEA) passing live, through your eVscope!

All of the control of the eVscope 2 takes place through the UniStellar eVscope app, which is available for both iOS and Android smart devices. Up to ten smartphones or tablets can connect to the telescope via WiFi; perfect for a family star-gazing session or a star party in your backyard with friends!

With all the cutting edge technology, the eVscope 2 is still amazingly simple to use and to share images on social media or with friends. When you turn this smart telescope on, its Autonomous Field Detection software works in conjunction with GPS technology on your smartphone to automatically align with the stars. Once the eVscope knows where it is, it is a simple matter to start observing. The state-of-the-art Nikon electronic eyepiece, with Micro OLED technology, yields sharp stars and beautiful contrast for dark background skies. Keep or share your images, or become a Citizen Scientist to collect data on near-Earth asteroids or explanets.

Please Note: The eVscope 2 backpack is optional. You can either order your backpack separately later or buy the eVscope 2 Bundle, which includes the backpack. Thanks.
