Customers find the coffee maker delicious and appreciate that it keeps coffee hot for up to 2 hours after brewing. However, the machine's functionality and build quality receive negative feedback, with customers reporting it stops working properly and breaking within 2 months of use. Moreover, the drip rate is problematic, with coffee continuing to drip for 15 minutes after brewing and spilling onto the counter. Additionally, customers disagree on whether the coffee maker is worth the price, and while some find it super easy to use, others consider it not user-friendly.

Flavor is OK, but too many other negatives
I ordered the Braun MultiServe, model KF9070SI, because it seemed to have all the features I wanted. UNDER JUST THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES, it makes good enough coffee, and compared to my old machine, at a much better temperature and much faster (it is SCA gold-cup certified). But bells and whistles don’t make up for good design, and there are enough major drawbacks that I would never have purchased this had I known what I know now.The drip stop is all but worthless. When I tried to remove the carafe mid-brewing cycle, even after moving the drip stop lever to the right try to engage it, coffee ended up splashing everywhere. Worse yet, even when the brew cycle is complete, coffee continues dripping from the filter cone into the pot for some minutes. Engaging the drip stop at this point does nothing, as it’s really only meant to pause the active brewing cycle (stop water from pumping into the cone). It does not actually prevent coffee from escaping the cone and into the carafe. If you take your carafe out from under the cone during those few minutes after the cycle is supposedly complete, but before it stops dripping into the carafe, coffee drips onto the hot plate, and if not regularly wiped up, within a relatively short time span the hotplate’s nonstick coating will start to peel away. For me that happened within a couple of weeks. That “nonstick” coating will actually stick to the bottom of your carafe, and the residue is not easy to get off without some serious elbow grease.Whoever put the cleaning cycle button immediately above the power button was not thinking of how actual human beings might use this coffee maker. It is far too easy to accidentally press the Clean button, and once you do so, nothing but running the full cleaning cycle will allow you to turn it off. That takes roughly 20 to 30 minutes. The brewing cycle options for this machine are not terribly flexible. It seems like there are a lot of options when you look at the dial, but many of them are just for various single-serving sizes. If you want to brew more than a single serving, you have exactly 2 options: half a pot, and a full pot. If you brew a full pot, there’s a very good chance you’re going to end up with grounds in your coffee, as the water and grounds overflow over the edge of the paper or gold mesh filter and drip into the carafe. So if I want to make enough coffee for more than two 10-ounce mugs, I have to use the half-pot cycle multiple times. Also, the coffee temperature for single servings is typically far lower than for a half or full pot, meaning I then have to heat my coffee in the microwave after brewing it.The design of the glass carafe is bad, because the neck is so narrow, you can’t get in to clean it without a brush. Yes, the carafe is dishwasher safe, but sometimes I just want to quickly wipe out the inside, not put it through the dishwasher. On the whole, I would not recommend this coffee maker at all.TLDR: good tasting coffee, but bad design and engineering. Drip stop doesn’t work; hot plate coating peels; no way to deactivate the cleaning cycle; water and coffee grounds overflow in full-pot mode; and hard to quickly clean the carafe

Nice machine. Easy to use and clean. I like the option on various sizes and coffee strength. My husband and I like bold coffee and this machine give a strong flavor of coffee.
You can’t go wrong with Germain brand. If you like a good cup of coffee without the hassle, then this is the machine to get. So far so good and it’s nice looking as it Gives your kitchen a modern look.

Update: after using this machine for 8 months, it has been a hassle trying to make coffee. About 5 days ago is was displaying clean which means descaling even though we never used tap water on this machine ever. We have a water dispenser with bottle delivery at home that we use for drinking and making coffee because not only the coffee taste better but we were hoping to minimize the issue of descaling so often. Despite using bottled water and following the instructions, the machine just stopped making coffee today after we just followed the descaling process. It has been a hassle getting hold of someone and Amazone is washing its hands and asking for me to contact the manufacturer. When I did so, the want me to record what is happening with the machine which I will do today. Considering the price $168 including tax and the hassle I am going thru after only 8 months, I would have chosen a different machine. Should have, would have, could have.

This is categorically the worst coffee maker we have ever owned. We bought this product in December of 2020 for $173 (I noticed they cost more now. You're better off with a simpler $40 coffee maker if you want the dang thing to work. The biggest problem is the electronics. The pot will go into various error codes, most commonly E21 which means out of water, whether or not the pot is out of water. When you get the error code it shuts down. If you look at the manual (we know it by heart) and fuss with the thing, it will often work again for awhile, until the day it completely stops working and nothing that you try and nothing that Braun Customer Service suggests will bring it back to life. Braun may have simply tried to do too much with this machine. You can set it for a wide variety of volume settings (12 oz, half pot, full pot, among others), do coffee over ice, and do descale for easier cleaning...when they work! Problem is the electronics in short time just wig out and stop working totally. No amount of unplugging the thing to reset the coffee maker, careful re-reading of the manual, or calling Customer Service has ever worked when it reaches the point that it sort of locks up. The one thing I would say about Braun is that Customer Service is excellent (even if their product isn't). That pot we bought in December 2020 (13 months before this review) last only about 3 months. When you call CS for an error they have you try a few things over the phone and if those things don't work, and for us they never did, they will immediately arrange to send you a replacement under the 2 year warranty. The replacement arrived in a reasonable amount of time. That second machine they sent ended up with similar problems as the first one in a matter of maybe five months later. We went through the same routine with CS, nothing they recommended worked, and we received our 3rd Braun Multi Serve Coffee Maker in the late Summer of 2021. As with the prior two coffee makers it worked well enough for a while but completely zorked out, currently and apparently eternally stuck with an E21 error, inoperable. Since we're in month 13 of a 2 year warranty we could call Braun again and get a replacement but we're tired of messing with it. We have purchased a less sophisticated but (we hope) reliable & modestly priced basic coffee maker which should operate well for several years like our past modestly priced coffee makers did. I worked in manufacturing for quite a few years and it seems to me Braun has a real basic quality control problem. This type of electronically programmed coffee maker should be a pretty simple device to make reliably in this day and age--they're putting microchips in everything successfully now...but not into this coffee maker. On a scale of 1 to 5 this Braun product is a solid 1 not just because there is no 0 but also because their Customer Service seems to be top notch. Just wish things were better on the shop floor.

I've been a Bunn Automatic user for years... I've had an A10A on my counter for over 10 years, and the poor thing was finally dying. Our household has also cut down on our coffee intake, so buying a brewer that keeps the water hot at all times didn't seem like the economical choice. I looked at lots of diffferent brewers, but was impressed by the looks, features, and reviews for the Braun. I've also owned Braun coffeemakers in the past and found them very durable.

First, this unit looks great... it takes up a minimal amount of counter space, yet is designed so that all of the key elements are easy to access and clean. The water reservoir is at the side and front of the unit, making it easy to add water without making a mess. Add to that the fact that the reservoir lifts out for easy filling at the tap and doesn't drip/leak when putting it back in the system, and you have a winner.

Braun still uses the #4 cone filter, which while slightly more expensive than standard filters, I believe the design provides the optimal extraction from the grinds. The filter basket lifts out for easy cleaning, and has a spring-loaded closure at the bottom to ensure that water doesn't leak out when outside of the coffeemaker.

The carafe is nice looking, easy to pour without fear of spilling or making a mess. The handle is substantial and is easy to grip. The shape of the carafe leaves a relatively small opening at the top, meaning that cleaning the carafe with your hands is out of the question... plan to use a bottle brush or sponge.

The base contains a heating plate that keeps the coffee hot for 2 hours after brewing and then shuts off. There's no means to manually lengthen this cycle... it's fully automated. A red light on the front of the unit tells you when the warmer is on. The keypad controls require the lightest of touches to activate. Brewing is simple... rotate the dial to select the size you want to brew, from 1 cup to a full carafe, press the Power button, and press the brew strength button to start the cycle. There are 4 brew strength options... Over Ice, Light, Gold and Bold. Since we typically like our coffee stronger than most, we use the Gold or Bold cycle to extract the maximum flavor from our coffee.

While I've not used it to brew a single cup yet, this unit is capable of such and has a fold-down shelf upon which to place the cup during the brew cycle. When you select any size less than half a pot, the heating plate does not turn on. Brewing is fast and quiet. Upon completion of the brew cycle, the coffee maker emits three beeps to let you know it's ready. If you're in a hurry, there's also a manually-activated control that holds the coffee while you pour a cup.

If this Braun is anything like the others I've owned in the past, I expect I'll get several years of use from it without a problem. It's pricier than other options, but I'm a firm believer that in most instances, you get what you pay for. I definitely would recommend it.

I needed a new coffee maker and picked this one - it is very easy to set up and really easy to use. Highly recommended - best feature is not only the great coffee, but the fact that one can brew small cups or very large pots of coffee and all of the coffee tastes great. East to use and easy to clean. Thank you.

Well how do I even get started. It brews a good pot of coffee. That's it. Literally nothing else good to say about it. I would say it looks so nice, and it does, but it is also the most infuriating coffee maker I've ever owned. If I don't keep paper towel on hand to wipe the basket chamber out of water, every single time, I risk this machine, by a function of its crappy design, spilling coffee EVERYWHERE besides the coffee pot. Literally ridiculous. The Stars available for rating this thing don't properly allow me to describe how much of a crappy machine this is. They went for design over function, and the results of this decision show their ugly face at entirely random points. Resulting in, worst case scenario, the machine causing itself to error out (E-13), and needing to unplug the machine, clean the whole thing and area, and probably start a whole new brew because this machine will literally self destruct any 'Savability' of the brew it just failed. Waste a quarter pot of coffee, clean up a bunch of coffee, all because this machine is so poorly designed, it has no business being on the market. I would love Amazon or Braun to reach out to me and see if they can remedy this experience, because this thing is literal trash.

Basic water physics. Water likes to coalesce upon itself, adhering to any other water it may encounter. When that water is on a nearly flat, horizontal surface, it has the ability through water tension to pull the stream of coffee, out of gravities way, to the drop off water on the flat surface, making it trail on that flat surface. Braun decided basic physics was a trivial thing to pay attention to, and thus they didn't. They've designed this machine to eventually ruin itself. Absolute trash.

Muy facil de usar, varios grados de sabor para seleccionar. Un solo defecto; cuando utilizas la base para la taza al final salta cafe fuera de la cafetera, necesitan una mejor solucion al respecto

Machine is speedy and makes a decent pot of coffee. Unfortunately, the screen went blank on my first one after 2 months of use, the heating coil died on the replacement 5 months later. Waiting for my second replacement from Braun.
Braun customer service is fantastic but the machine is unreliable. I'll probably stick with a basic coffee maker next time.
