FOOD PAIRING

Our Classic Cuvée is a versatile food-matcher. This vintage pairs perfectly with roast chicken and meaty fish like hake and monkfish or eggs benedict and gravlax.

“Bergamot peel on the nose. Crisp and brisk, sorrel and citrus. Lovely stoniness, like rolling marbles in your mouth. Firm and bracingly clean. Mouth-watering finish. A great appetiser! I found myself hankering for cockles to go with it!” 16.5 points. Tamlyn Currin, JancisRobinson.com

2019 VINTAGE

The 2019 growing season started early and despite the ever-present risk of late spring frost, we were hopeful for a repeat of 2018. We experienced record breaking temperatures during late July and a very warm August, but a wet end to September and October. The fruit survived and produced some lovely wines, despite the soggy picking conditions.

About Rathfinny

The Sussex House of Rathfinny is a family-run, grower-producer, specialising in low-intervention, traditional method, vintage sparkling wines with Sussex PDO status. Terroir-driven, the wines reflect the single-estate Vineyard in the South Downs of Sussex. Produced from hand-harvested grapes that are whole-bunch pressed and patiently matured on lees and in bottle to develop rich, autolytic notes, with a low dosage that emphasises the purity of the fruit.
