I splurged and bought these vs the knock-offs (that are cheaper) because of the awesome reviews. They are VERY comfortable and lightweight. Perfect summer/pool shoes that would be worth the money had they not both torn at the toes within a month of having them.

After reading others reviews, I was slightly confused as to which size to order. I typically wear a size 8 1/2 or nine. I have two other pair of Birkenstocks one of which is a size 39 and one is a 40. I decided to try the 39 narrow. I couldn’t be happier. There is even enough room to make them a little more snug, if need be. I’ve included photos, because I feel they are helpful to me when deciding. Pay no attention to my non-manicured feet! LOL.

Birkenstock is the only shoe I can wear since I had both knees replaced 15 years ago. I have MANY pairs - cute sandals, etc all in size 36 marked to fit 6 - 6.5. I ordered these in 36 which are marked to fit 5 - 5.5. I decided they were marked wrong because they fit exactly like all my other Birks. I use these shoes as slippers in the morning before I dress for the day and in the evening when I relax and prepare to retire. I'm 87 and enjoy life.

If you love your birks but need a pair that can get wet ...these are for you. I was nervous getting them in narrow since I have a wide foot but they fit the same as normal width birks.
