UPDATE: 2-16-2025I'm updating my review after having owned this and used it almost daily for over a month now. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this treadmill and have dropped my score from 4/5 to 2.5/5 (reflected at 3/5 because Amazon doesn't permit half stars). Here is my issue and it's a big one for me. After using this treadmill with the same exact routine (speed changes; no incline) I had been doing for months and months on a very inexpensive walking pad from Urevo that goes up to 6.9 speed, I started developing a lot of pain in my right knee. I'm 48 years old and have never had any knee pain nor any issues with my joints. This knee pain increased within 3 days of use. So much so that I was out for a couple of weeks of being able to use it. Once I "RICE'd" for a couple of weeks, I decided to try the same routine side by side with the Sunny and the Urevo alternating days. Every single time about 15-20 minutes in, my knee or other areas of my legs started getting much more sore and fatigued when using the Sunny. When using the Urevo, however, I was able to do my normal 30 minutes HIIT run with no issues. So, I thought, maybe this is happening because the Sunny has a .5% natural incline? So I put two rubber 1/2 inch thick pads on the back feet, made sure the machine was level and flat and tried again. No dice, still some discomfort and still fatigue that I don't get on the cheap walking pad. I then tested the speed differences between the two. Indeed, there is a difference of about 1% so I adjusted accordingly when doing my routine with the Sunny. Still uncomfortable. The last thing I did for 3 days was run for 5 minutes at a certain speed, lets say 5 on the Sunny and then hopped off and did the same on the Urevo. It was at this point I noticed that for whatever reason, the much cheaper (yet really well made) Walking Pad felt much softer with the cushioning and I could tell that with my short strides I was feeling lighter running on that deck as opposed to the Sunny which feels heavy-footed and "harder". I have no idea how a much more expensive treadmill that I bought honestly only because I wanted a wider running belt is less cushioned and comfortable than this "Premium" albeit, budget treadmill. I don't even want to use it anymore unfortunately so I'm out the money I paid for it. I only wanted to write my experience because if cushioning is a factor for you and you jog/run at speeds 5 or more, than this might not be the choice of treadmill. I'm currently looking to bite the bullet and get another treadmill.It's unfortunate that Amazon lumps two different models into the same reviews as 99% of the reviews on here are for the older and narrower belt version. I received this newer model on Thursday January 9. 2025. The box was beat up (no surprise) but it was packaged well and nothing was damaged. It is indeed HEAVY. It states 130lbs boxed but it feels more substantial. After unpackaging, my wife and I both lifted the treadmill to get it from our garage to a lower level room that wasn't too far away. I would advise if you need to move this up or down some flights to be cautious and make sure you have able bodies who can lift it.I followed the instructions per manual and setting up the treadmill was amazingly easy as it comes preassembled. You lift up the handrails and lock the console into place. That easy. Only left is to screw in the cup holders (for those interested these are big!! and they hold my 40oz water bottle that doesn't have a narrow base so that was a very nice surprise!) and insert the safety key.Next up, I lubed the belt per the instructions. I was a bit hesitant to lift the belt as to not damage or stretch it but found that once you get an edge up, it comes up with enough space easily to apply the lube without losing any tension. As a matter of fact, I highly recommend doing this on both sides as when you put the belt back down it aligns it into place in case anything got jarred during shipping. I plugged in the treadmill and let it run for 5 minutes at the slowest default speed. Everything sounded normal and the belt was centered with no pulling left or right, therefore, no adjustments were needed.I tested the speeds and here is where I noticed a very strange issue. When I get to speeds 2.1 - 2.9 - there is an audible change in sound. It is somewhat of a higher pitched noise that for some reason only happens during these speeds. ALL other speeds, lower or higher, DO NOT have this noticable noise. Now, it's not terrible, like, it doesn't sound like the motor is acting up and doesn't sound like grinding or anything like that. It's really hard to explain but I attached a video that demonstrates this. We have done around 10 runs so far since Thursday at numerous speeds and inclines and the treadmill functions properly with no issues so my concern about the sound is minimal as it's not loud or obnoxious nor seems to affect functionality, it's just..."noticable".I did reach out to Sunny since it's brand new and they advised to take the cover off of the motor area, remove the motor belt and run the machine. This would be to determine if the noise is a motor issue or a roller or belt issue. I have not done this. I did remove the cover to observe the workings and the motor looks to be running smooth, the belt is secure and when changing speeds I do not notice the motor belt moving side to side or anything. Matter of fact, while I could still hear that noise at those speeds, I could not tell if it was even coming from that area or at the foot of the treadmill or at the control panel or wherever. It's very hard to trace the source. It "seems" like it's actually a faint electronic noise from the console but I have no idea. I just don't think I feel comfortable removing the motor belt since I don't have direction as to how to put the belt back on. There is a 180 day part warranty so I might get someone who knows about treadmills to do this with me so I don't mess up a good thing. BTW - that warranty is terrible but I figured for the price I paid, so be it. This model was only one out of a few I could find with a 20" deck and less than 68" length which I require for my limited space restrictions so it fit the bill. All "more expensive models" from other brands that I looked into are just simply too big for what I can fit and also most require intricate assembly.In conclusion, I have to say, the 20" wide belt is a HUGE welcome addition and I don't think I could ever go back to a smaller belt width. My runs and jogs feel much more comfortable and I don't have to look down every so often in fear of stepping on the sides of the belt. The incline and speed transitions are super smooth and the brushless motor and shock absorption make running on this a surprisingly really quiet and enjoyable experience. The large cup holders are a bonus that I didn't expect. Time will tell how this holds up but after set-up and regular use for 4 days I really, really like this treadmill. I'm a novice runner so for more advanced runners this might not be the treadmill for them, however, I assume they wouldn't even consider a Sunny for their needs in that case.Pros:The price, ease of set up, larger belt width and quiet operation makes us really happy we went with this model (so far).Cons:Sunny's warranty is straight up garbage. At this point, I see no other cons."Cons" specific to me but might not apply to others:While there are 24 included programs, I can only use like 2 of them because most reach speeds at a certain duration that I simply can't do. Speeds 7 and up are way too fast for me.I thought the SunnyFit app courses would automatically adjust treadmill settings during workouts. This is not the case. You DO see your parameters on the right hand side of the screen and you CAN change them to adjust the treadmill within the app (that's cool!) but the treadmill will not change incline or speed during a workout course and you just have to follow the instructors numbers and adjust them manually. Not a big deal so not really a "con", I just didn't know.While I appreciate SunnyFit's customer service, (I was able to get someone on the phone quickly and they responded to my emails in a timely manner) I'm not crazy about them asking me to remove the motor belt to troubleshoot without giving further instructions how to put it back on. Again, not really a "con" just an observation.Thank you for reading.
