Love the sunrise/sunset feature!

Love the sunrise/sunset feature!
Setup was easy, the light is very adjustable. I did reference the setup manual to get the hang of the button system. The instructions are very clear and simple. My goal is to use my phone less and better regulate my sleep/wake schedule. I have been using a separate alarm instead of my phone and noticed an improvement. I’m really excited to try the sunrise/set feature! The sounds are great too. The only feature it’s missing is Bluetooth, but maybe it’s for the best to help reduce overall phone usage.

I started off with a philips but prefer this one as it is much more attractive and less bulky. It is still difficult to program (although you can watch a youtube video that shows you how), but if you've had the philips version, you know that you practically need to be a NASA engineer to set one of those up. The light turns on very gradually and there is a variety of alarm noises. I get up at the same time every day, so I don't need to re-program ever although there is a function you can set for a second alarm time. With all the lights off, it is completely dark, no light emitted at all. Besides being a pain to program when you first get it, the only other drawback is that it only displays using military time. This does not bother me as I don't use it to tell the time, but it is easy enough to read in a pinch.

Initially I purchased a cheaper version of this from another brand. It worked okay, but broke within a month.

After realizing how much my sleep/wake up quality had improved with even a cheap sunrise alarm clock, I reluctanty decided to spend the money on the lumie bodyclock 300.

    I don't regret it.

For now, I use it exclusively for the sunrise function. Setting up the clock and sunrise was easy and intuitive, and the sunrise lighting is very smooth.

Construction-wise, it doesn't feel bulky or cheaply made, and the design is aesthetically pleasing.

The alarm sounds are pleasant, varied, and don't sound like a 10 second recording playing over and over; which was one of my main complaints about the cheaper version from another brand.

I would change 2 small things if I could. I wish the numbers on the digital display were bigger and easier to read at night without glasses. Also, when selecting the track to play for the sunrise alarm, it doesn't show which track you selected on the setup screen. This was confusing to me during setup and I thought I was doing something wrong until I watched a video.

So, the downsides: for starters, there's a "ping pong ball rally" sound. Who the hell falls asleep to this sound? Or wakes up to it? Honestly, a "fan blowing in the room" sound or "waves gently rolling onto a beach sound (without seagulls" would have fared much better.

Second, you can't change the clock interface from 24-hour display (colloquially known as "military time") to 12-hour (traditional American display) time.

Third, the manual is a booklet. It's a thicc boi. Slightly complicated, but easy enough to figure out given ten minutes' read and clock experimentation.

Fourth, and this one is exclusive to my own personal buy, the manual "hand-press the lighting" action doesn't seem to work all that well. I had to get around this by using the auto-off feature (which kicks in two hours after it turns on in the morning, which in itself is handy).

Otherwise? The light is SUPER bright and sunlight-similar, the interface has other lovely sounds from which you can choose to wake up to (or not!), and the "sleep-sunset" feature is BRILLIANT (though I wish it would shut down a lot longer than just "over the span of 45 minutes"). Plus the interface itself is light-sensitive, so if it's dark it's going to be low-light, and in higher lumens the interface will be regular or high lighting.

Four out of five. The pingpong rally is too weird for me, but I'd definitely recommend the light-up alarm clock to others.

I’ve spent years researching different sunrise alarm clocks after purchasing one that was awful. I researched the Philip’s alarm but ended up going with Lumie because of the warranty (Philip's has no backup battery and you can’t replace the bulb if it burns out). I was hesitant with the bad reviews on this alarm because people said it was extremely difficult to set up. I’m 24 and grew up with very simple alarm clocks so I can understand the simplicity of older clocks. This clock is very easy to set up if you take 3 minutes to read the directions. I was actually pretty angry knowing I spent so much time researching the set up issues people complained about just to receive the clock and follow very simple instructions to set it up. I had no issues. I’m assuming the people who are complaining about the set up either 1. Refuse to accept that clocks have a few extra sets nowadays (ya know, considering it has so many features unlike clocks 10/20 years ago) and adapt to new technology, which is fine, but don’t advertise that it is difficult or impossible to set up just because you refuse to accept it takes a few extra minutes. 2. They didn’t take 3 minutes to read the instructions to understand how to set it up and likely tried to do it without even opening the instructions which would obviously be hard since there’s too many features to simply use 2 buttons. It seems like there is a lazy generational gap here.

If you are interested in this clock, please do not base your purchase off of the negative reviews regarding set it. My parents are in their 70s, one has never even owned a phone let alone knows how to upload photos onto the computer but they are both able to set the entire clock up in under 3 minutes. It really isn’t difficult. The instructions are right there and there is a YouTube video for people who are visual learners.

This is an excellent alarm and well worth the money. I feel refreshed when I wake up instead of being jolted out of bed with my heart racing and nauseated because of it. I’m a night owl and this has completely transformed my mornings and has helped me start my day off on the best note. I couldn’t recommend this enough.

Alarm works well. It's bright enough to wake me up ahead of the alarm actually going off. If you read the manual, setting up the clock is easy, despite what other reviews say. The 24 hour format is appreciated.

Very cool clock. Not easy to use at first but if you take the time to understand the buttons, it will be well worth it. The sunset mode is really cool and quick to activate, plus the ambient sounds are plentiful and very calming
