  • The reduced capacity during charging is due to a 35% to 45% energy loss in the battery cells and conversion circuitry. Therefore, a fully charged Anker 622 Battery (PowerCore 5K) typically offers an estimated 2,750 to 3,250mAh to power devices.

  • To estimate charging cycles, use this formula:

    (Power Bank Capacity × 0.6) ÷ Device Battery Capacity ≈ Number of Charges. For example, a 5,000mAh power bank charging a 3,000mAh device would typically provide about 1 charge.

  • It's normal for both the power bank and phone to heat up during wireless charging due to power loss. For safety, we recommend maintaining the power bank's temperature within 118°F (48℃), so you can use it with confidence.

  • Your iPhone may automatically stop charging at 80% to protect its battery from overheating, as part of iOS 17's thermal management strategy. Charging will resume once the device cools down. Moving it to a cooler spot can help speed up this process.

  • For efficient recharge, use a 12W charger. The power bank supports 7.5W max wireless charging for iPhone 12 and later models. It’s not compatible with Android phones. Cases thicker than 2.5 mm and non-magnetic cases may reduce charging efficiency.

Haven’t had this product for 2 months yet, but already disappointed. It fell from my backpack as I was walking out of work and it wasn’t on my shoulder yet, I was carrying it with the strap, I’m not that tall it fell about 2 ft off the ground and took a couple scratches( so did my apple magsafe battery pack too and it’s still perfectly fine) so I thought nothing of it. Well the next day I go to use it and it overheated bad, I picked it up and both the pack and my phone were extremely hot, I immediately took my phone off and it said I couldn’t use it until it cooled down. I reached out to Anker support for a replacement and they said due to “physical damage” they can’t replace it, but they can give me 20% off to buy another one, seriously? I’ve had mophie and Samsung packs before that have lasted me 5+ years and are still working perfectly fine even after bigger drops than the one this one took because I’m human and things fall. I’m providing pics of the “damage” it took as well as the “damage ” my apple one took. You can clearly tell the durability.. I’m just glad I didn’t get stuck on my long flight with an overheated battery pack and potential phone damage. Good luck to you if you buy this.. *Update* The company reached out to me and offered to give me a refund, I told them I really wanted to give it a chance and they sent me a replacement within 3 days, I have had no issues with the new one, of course I’m extra careful with it now, as long as you don’t drop it you’re good lol

    Anker has a wonderful reputation of making good high quality products and I’ve gotten multiple of their cords and their charging banks with great experiences, and this is no different. It’s slim, generally light weight, feels great in the hands, good side, and comes with the bonus feature of a built in kick stand that reminds me of my iPad cases. The magnets are strong and the MagSafe is very good, especially with a case on your phone that also has added MagSafe magnets. The indicators on the side near the button are nicely lit and clear and I find I can get about a full charge and a half out of the battery. It does make the iPhone very warm, but MagSafe is generally that way since inductive charging isn’t as efficient, so it’s definitely a give and take there. Speed isn’t the best, but it’s not the worst either. It’ll keep your phone alive. Generally, I’d suggest using this when not using your phone. Also, if it’s in a pocket charging your phone, it’ll make the phone overheat very fast, so be aware. I definitely recommend getting this battery bank. It’s reliable and has given me a very good experience overall.

    We recently purchased the Anker Power Bank, and it's been our go to charger on vacations and trips being used extensively. The power bank's performance is impressive, as it charges well and is extremely useful maintaining solid charge for many devices throughout the day. It's compact, making it easy to carry around in pockets on trips, and the kickstand is a handy feature. However, it can occasionally get slightly warm with prolonged use especially outdoors but it is very mild and not overall noticeable. It's a solid choice for those looking for a reliable portable charger with some great features including ease of transport, extended use over the day, and in need of the added benefit of magnetic grip. It's a definitely purchase for us and our favorite charger in our ever growing need for quick charging devices.

    UPDATE: Anker reached out to me and sent me a new charger. After spending some time with it, it was obvious that the previous charger was very much a lemon. My biggest issue was that it wouldn’t hold a charge when being stored. The new charger maintains its charge to where I’m comfortable about not worrying about it in an emergency. And I am able to fully charge my phone with it now. The magnetic hold is still just okay and it still gets a little too warm when charging the phone, imo, but I can deal with that. I appreciate the customer service that Anker provided.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW: When it comes to charging my electronic devices, Anker is my go to brand. I’ve bought and used various products over the years with 100% satisfaction, but this one was less than stellar.

    It looks nice, it’s not too heavy, the fold out kickstand is a great addition. Like other reviews mentioned, the magnet isn’t that strong and it gets hot when charging the phone. I have not been able to get a full phone charge out of it. And the charger doesn’t stay charged. After I use it, I charge it back up and put it away. When I pull it out, and I’m talking just a few days later, it’s dead. If my power goes out, I can’t count on the power pack to be working.

    Maybe I have a defective pack. But because of its performance, I don’t recommend this product. As the title of my review says, it got 3 stars only because it’s an Anker and in general I have been happy with their products.
