      You can use this watch 100% offline. You don't have to create an account or hook it to your phone or wifi.

      Just put it on and it works.

      There are some weird os changes though (had fenix 7 before)

      The watch faces all kind of suck. super busy with numbers not in a row. I wish you could select the simple and readable along the lines of the sleep face but for the day.

      One head scratcher - the older OS was simpler and more logical.

      For example, the "controls" screen (hold upper left button). I had to finally download the manual to find out how to edit it. (hold middle left button while controls active). This should be in settings.

      also, it was hard to figure out how to edit characteristics of activities. You have to go deep in to settings.

      other than that, love the watch

      Update again, Dam this watch is difficult. Just not worth the headache. The watch is slow and difficult to operate. The battery life is very good. I like the original screen but it's difficult to get to after checking other things on the watch. After midnight turning your wrist will not activate the watch. You have to tap the face and then it's big numbers. Stays that way till you wake and go through the morning summary. It's okay but not great.

      Update.. this watch is very aggravating! It sucks after midnight and for some reason the touch screen doesn't want to work. Getting back to the Home Screen is a real task!

      Update!! The more I try to use this D@mm watch the more I hate it. Touch screen accidentally turned off. I have wasted an hour trying to get it turned back on. I have watched to many useless rambling utube videos and try the Garmin app and tried from the watch. It absolutely fn sucks.

      Watch died after using it for 6 months. First it started with random shutoff, more and more frequent in the past few days, then wouldn't start at all unless on charger and finally won't even start on the charger anymore. Need to go through an exchange with Garmin. Will be without a watch for several days as a result. Lots of talks about this issue on social media for this model just dying, especially after updating. Not a good look for Garmin. Good watch overall, the scuba diving feature is great. Their app UI (Garmin Connect) is by far not the best either.

      Unica pecca paragonato al 7 solar, la durata della batteria chiaramente inferiore.
      Causa schermo amoled, se lo utilizzate tutti i giorni vi troverete a caricarlo ogni 3/4 giorni, buona ma non ottima.
      La ricarica però è molto veloce.

      Llevo con el algo más de 3 semanas.
      Me encanta el ecosistema Garmin.
      Lo he probado sobre todo corriendo, bici y sesiones de fuerza

      👌LO MEJOR:

      📱 La pantalla: Vengo de otro garmin con pantalla MIP de los de toda la vida y el cambio es brutal. Los colores, la definición, el contraste...la pantalla se ve genial. Y si habéis leído alguna review que comenta que al solo puede que no se vea tan bien. Lo he probado y estate tranquilo, se ve muy muy bien.

      📊 Los indicadores disponibles: mi antiguo garmin, no disponía de tantos indicadores de seguimiento ni tan detalladas. Ahora dispones de un abanico de mediciones impresionante: body battery, stamina, sueño (detecta las siestas), estado VFC, pulsioximetria... Además es didáctico en el sentido que te dice de donde saca alguno de los indicadores (factores que suman o restan)

      🔦 Luz led: La luz LED que incorpora. Estoy encantado. El otro día salí a correr por un camino verde que tiene unos túneles, algunos sin iluminación y a veces me suelo llevar una linterna para no pisar mal en ellos. Pues con la luz LED que trae incorporada me vale para pasar los túneles sin tener que llevar más la linterna. Genial!!

      😐 DUDA:

      🔋Elegí el tamaño de 47 mm, para ajustarse correctamente a mi muñeca. Tengo una muñeca fina de 16,5 cms y venía de un tamaño menor, pero como tuve la oportunidad de probar el tamaño creo que en eso acerté. Esto sin problemas. Me ha quedado la duda de si tendría que haber cogido el tamaño de 51mm pero no por el tamaño si no por la batería. El tamño de 51mm tiene mayor autonomia y con el de 47 ahora estoy contento, pero ya sabes qué pasa con la autonomía cuando va pasando el tiempo, que va disminuyendo y me pregunto cómo responderá dentro de un par de años.

      No quiero preocupar, porque ahora mismo me aguanta casi la semana (con actividad diaria), pero veremos a ver dentro de un par de años. Lo comento porque mi viejo garmin, con los años, se le ha notado bastante que la autonomia va menguando.

      OTROS:

      🚥Los botones: Para mejorar su estanqueidad han cambiado el sistema de los botones y es cierto que hay que acostumbrarse al tacto y su respuesta, diferente a los botones tradicionales. Ni bien ni mal, simplemente diferente. Pero no deja de ser curioso.

      🤿 Tema de buceo: Simplemente no lo practico y no puedo valorarlo

      🎤 Micrófono/altavoz: Funcionar funciona, pero la calidad es la que es. Se ve que no es donde más recursos han puesto. Pero para mí no es una función que me haya hecho decantarme por él.

      🧑‍💻Actualizaciones: Han habido bastantes actualizaciones, pero a mí me ha funcionado sin problemas. Eso si, mi consejo, no te temas en el tema de actualizaciones beta.

      🪙 Precio: Es caso. Sin lugar a dudas. Pero si lo puedo aprovechar el mismo tiempo que el anterior Garmin, merecerá la pena.

      FINAL:

      AMAZON: El paso adicional de seguridad que añade Amazon a productos de un alto valor. El que te de una contraseña que recibes el día de la recepción y le tengas que dar al repartidor para que te entregue el pedido me gustó, ya que pude comprobar cómo funcionaba.

      En mi caso, la dirección de entrega no es la de mi residencia y lo recoge otra persona de la familia. Como recibí yo la contraseña y no pude darle a tiempo la contraseña al familiar, éste no pudo recoger el producto cuando llegó. Simplemente el repartidor no se lo dío al no tener la contraseña. Culpa mía, pero pude comprobar que funcionaba.

      Depués, en el segundo intento, ya con la contraseña (diferente), se recogió y además recibimos una llamada para confirmar la recepción del producto.

      Me pareció un paso muy muy interesante!

      Ancien possesseur d’une Fenix 5X, je suis très satisfait de cette Fenix 8. L’écran est très beau, la montre est plus légère avec un écran légèrement plus grand et le tactile fonctionne bien.
      Si vous avez déjà une Fenix 7, la mise à niveau vers ce modèle n’est peut être pas forcément aussi flagrante que dans mon cas donc à vous de voir.
      Je recommande tout de même cette belle montre de chez Garmin si vous êtes sportif et aimez l’élégance.
      Petit bémol pour finir, certaines personalisation des watchface sont passées payantes … Dommage :-/
