I hardly ever write reviews but ran to write this IMMEDIATELY after using the blow dry brush. I am in absolute shock 🤯I’ve hesitated to order this for months and considered a Dyson product thinking it may be better quality. The Amazon Prime Day deal got me with almost $50 off the original price so I impulsively hit “Buy Now”.It arrived in the mail yesterday and I already felt a sense of regret and thought back on the early 2000’s when I was in high school with frizzy curly hair and wasted so much money on hot tools promising to give you silky straight hair in no time at all. (Remember the wet to dry straighteners 🤦🏻‍♀️) I was mad at myself over the impulse purchase.For the last 10 years I’ve used a blow dryer followed by a straightener for an almost 60-75 minute hair routine. My hair is a massive poof ball of fuzz after I dry it for reference. I had this sinking feeling this hot tool was another gimmick and I wasted money hoping it would be one to actually deliver.I tested it out this morning and cannot believe the results. I have lots of very fine curly hair with these random wiry curls at my crown since having a baby three years ago.This round brush dryer straightened my hair and made it smooth in just under 30 minutes. All I did was work in some blow dry heat protectant after my shower, section off my damp hair in small sections with clips, and use the brush to dry with some tension. Every single section came out perfectly!!!!I honestly wanted to cry because this is going to save me so much time in the morning on days I go into the office, and I can pack away my straightener that leaves my hair smelling fried no matter how many products I use to protect it. I hated shower days after straightening my hair because it smelled burnt when wet despite being two days after straightening it. No burnt smell at all with this product!This completely transformed my curls that start at the root of my hair into bouncy straight hair in under 30 minutes. I added an old photo of my curls with faces blurred for reference because I didn’t think to take a before photo, I expected this to be a dud. It’s incredible, buy it, it’s not a gimmick!I will say by the last 2-3 front sections my wrist was a little tired but nothing more than how I feel after blow drying my hair with a normal hair dryer. I did not find this product heavy at all, I think it’s more using muscles I never used to turn the hair dryer to create tension as it dries. I’m confident over time I won’t even notice it anymore. If you have chronic fatigue or joint pain in your writs you may find the motion bothersome, but I would not attribute that to the weight of the hair tool.There was also that new plastic product smell when it first got hot out of the box, but after running it for a few minutes that was entirely gone. Don’t be alarmed by it.If you’ve been on the fence, just buy it. It’s hands down the best tool I’ve bought in my 30+ years of life to straighten my curly hair.

    I am the mom of 7 kids, including 6 girls. All of us girls have very different hair types and this tool works great for us all! I am highly impressed!! I have grey hair with a course texture, one daughter has thick straight, some have thin wavy, and some have thin straight. I blow dry everyone’s hair at night after showering, and like magic we all wake up ready for the day like we just stepped out of the salon! It has been a major time saver for getting everyone ready in the mornings before school. I love that it takes minutes to dry my 4-2 year old children’s hair. It sets the style and has completely eliminated that matted hair they get from sleeping or riding in their car seats. It takes a little longer to dry/style my tweens’ hair, maybe like 10-15min, but the results and longevity of the style is totally worth it. For me, I love that I wake up with my hair looking fresh, and I am not rocking my typical mom bun look anymore!

    I have been using a John Frieda hot air brush for years and decided it was time for a new one. I have another that I used for a short time, but it got so hot I was afraid my hair would get severely damaged. The Drybar brush is comfortable to hold, the half shot is the perfect size for chin length hair, and the heat is not too hot. There are 3 speeds to this dryer....low, high and cool. I find the low speed to be the most manageable as it tends to prevent frizz. It is important to rough dry yout hair to slightly damp before using the brush. I highly recommend!

    If you have thick, coarse hair like me and imagine that this will replace all other styling tools, think again. It took me a little trial and error to figure out the best method with this tool. I have thick graying hair that is slightly wavy underneath and straight on top, so heat styling is a must. My hair hits about mid back and takes me forever to blow dry and flat iron. So I purchased this brush dryer hoping to save my arms and shoulders and cut down on my hair grooming time. I imagined this dryer would be my single solution to that but it really was not. However, after some trial and error I am getting better results with this product than my former methods so I am pretty satisfied with it so far.

    Here is the method I have devised to manage my lion’s mane. After shampooing and conditioning I apply a smoothing balm on towel-dried hair and comb it out. I have found I have to rough-dry my hair with a regular dryer about two-thirds of the way before moving on to the Drybar dryer. I apply a heat protector balm at this point to partially dried ends and section my hair- a bun on top and then split the bottom layer in two sections, one on either side of my shoulders. It still takes me almost as long to dry my hair, but with this method the result is smoother, without the “lumps” I used to struggle with by blow drying and flat-ironing. The Drybar will not give me the stick-straight hair I used to have effortlessly when I was younger, but I do get a more polished, blowout look I can live with. If I want stick-straight hair I still have to make a few passes with the flat-iron but usually don’t bother.

    At first I tried using the Drybar start to finish but it took forever and dried my hair out too much and I was afraid with regular use my hair would be fried. Your mileage may vary, but this method described above works pretty well for me, and overall I am satisfied with the results. A star off because for the price, it wasn’t the total solution I had hoped it would be. I have had this tool for several weeks now and like it pretty well. If it starts malfunctioning or stops working altogether within the first couple of years, I will try to remember to update this review accordingly.

    This is my first review, ever. Usually I can't be bothered because things either half-work or don't really work, or aren't really worth my hard earned money. However, I've spent the last 35 years thinking my hair was frizzy because it was unhealthy, and I've spent about a billion dollars on products to get rid of the frizz, when all I really needed to do was use this thing. I never bothered drying with a round brush because I couldn't get the coordination right. However, this thing does it all for you. Probably the best investment I've ever made in my hair, and now I can stop buying expensive useless products.

    I purchased this item and it arrived in August. When I tried to use it for the first time it started to spark so I unplugged it immediately. I returned the product. Sadly I am still waiting for a refund. To add insult to injury for an expensive product I had to pay the return postage as the seller did not provide a label. So in addition to getting a faulty product I am also out of pocket for the expense of returning it. Not happy with the supplier who has failed to reply to any comments.

    I absolutely love this brush. I have very thick coloured treated shoulder length hair and generally use my Dyson Air Wrap to dry and style it but I still have to use my straighteners to smooth it down. With the Drybar brush I can just dry it off lightly with my hair drying tool and then finish drying and styling in one go, without the need for straighteners, which in turn has improved the texture of my hair. It smooths your hair and makes it shine but also gives it body and bounce if required. In fact, this is the best condition my hair has been in for a long time. If you have the time and the patience you should use it directly on wet hair without any pre drying as the size of the brush enables you to dry your hair very quickly. I would definitely recommend this product.
