Even without opening the packaging, the scent was incredibly strong, and the champagne component of the scent was a bit overwhelming.     I love the smell of patchouli, and I purchased this candle because I smelled a friend's candle of the same brand and name that had a fantastic patchouli scent. Also, the company advertises that the scent profile of this candle contains patchouli, among other scents. Unfortunately, the candle that arrived doesn't have a patchouli scent at all, not even a subtle patchouli scent. The company advertises that their candles are made in small batches, which is fine, except that these batches are obviously so variable that it isn't possible to predict whether the scent is as advertised. While it's not the most expensive candle, it's not a cheap candle either. For the money, I think it should have the scent that was advertised. Overall, a very disappointing purchase.
